I have a green and black 98 tourer.I know its the original paint and all, but I would like to get it painted.I dont want flames or scallops or skulls or anything but paint.Chevy silverados have a beautiful metallic green that I really like.I expect a good paint job,one that is well done will cost me over $1000.00. i love the gas tank, the engine, the lights the windshield, the seat, the saddlebags, everything but i dont like the paint.I used to like blue but got tired of it.I had a 2004 ultra that was fire engine red I really liked.Opinions or color suggestions appreciated.

Your current color is sort of rare.  Many would cherish that bike.  Consider selling it and purchasing one that needs a paint job for less money.

Or find some tins from a seller and paint then swap out, hang on to your orig for future re-install to preserve the value of your bike.

When I picked up my Tourer, I was looking for the Green/Black, settled for Red/Black. Maybe Victor will post a pick of his, thats sharp.

My bike is purple. I really like it. But the best thing is the oe tins are all boxed up and stored in the garage. That way when the purple grows old on me, I can put her back to the bumblebee with minimal effort. And I will someday, I really dig that color as well.

For whatever reason I rarely see a red motorcycle. I don't know why. I think a bright red Valk would look kickass...or any other bike for that matter.

A red one isnt all that interesting. Thats what the Po painted mine.  A dark metallic red, some Ford OE color for the Taurus in the early 2000's.  Its kinda blah.

There is a guy with a Red-Cherry-ish color Valk at the So Cal Chapter. It was chosen from an earlier color version from a Honda Shadow. Lips Sealed

PROS:
1. You make it truly your own.
2. Your girlfriend won't dump you as fast.
3. It won't get lost in a sea of bikes. (It's a Valkyrie for cryin' aloud!)
4. While been painted you can clean it from the inside out...

CONS:
A. Rarely do you find someone w/-your color taste unless you stay "neutral."
B. Many folks are "suspicious" about any "repainted" vehicle.
C. Many folks just want the factory colors - they treasure "originality."
D. Some colors are just Butt Ugly.

"Many folks are "suspicious" about any "repainted" vehicle."

I'll take a fresh paint job over some faded, scratched crap any day of the week unless it's just a shiny but ugly color.

I guess the exception would be fresh paint over a big dent or crappy body work, but I haven't really seen that since me and my buddies slapped some Bondo on my rusty '74 Nova then hit it with spray paint.

Well.. that and the PO of my '97 Tourer that touched up the left bag with spray paint after he apparently couldn't get it into the garage without banging into the wall  Angry   If ya want to mess up a paint job, just lay it down on the highway like a man =)

I'm very pleased with my new paint job, and ya.. I went with the original color because it's just so darn pretty  cooldude
