How in the world did you find a 97 with only 242 miles? Or is that 100242?  Either one is good and it is a sharp looking ride.

That is the actual miles not 100,000 but just 306 now. Here is the story I got. It was bought new in Calif. and rode home 47 miles to where it was dropped in the garage. The old boy that bought it could not pick it up. A couple hours later he had a friend come over and help him. He neve rode it again. He passed and his wife had an estate sale and a young sport bike rider bought it. Had it trailered to a shop where they got it to run. He rode it home 42 miles and could not handle it. He was use to a thin 400lb sport bike and could not white line this bike and said it was too hard to turn. So, bike has 89 miles on it when I find it on craigs list 5 min after he posted. Called him, made a deal went out and picked it up. (Trailer) Put some seafome in it and rode it for about 100 miles. It did not clean it out. Been replacing hoses and fuel line and took it to BigBF for carb work and many other things. Just got it back from him and well........that's her story.  Wink

That is a great looking Valkyrie. One of my favorite colors. If I had not picked one up a few weeks back I would be biding on it. Smiley

When he tow it here for me to work on last year and he told me it got 105 miles I thought Bullshit... So I inspect and sure enough it was not on road much! How? Look at the brake rotors it's like brand new, Looked under the front engine cover there's no chipped from road debris too jeez and I looked on fork none have chipped like we all have then I said ok that's the true miles. I work on little like replaced cracks hoses and minor repairs. I had already suggest that it may need some carb work and he does not want to spend that much and want to sell it. So time fly for a year later he brought back and had me to do the carb rebuilt complete everything taken apart and replace all gaskets, o-rings, slow jets, hoses for air cut off valve and so on... Oh by the way the air filter is red is coming from factory. The replacement air filter is green. It's running great now. I thought he was gonna keep this Valkyrie and I asked if he want to have Quad horns installed? He said go for it. Now its out on Ebay... I guess he is hoping not sold yet so he can keep it ha!   cooldude

Obviously that low of mileage is rare nowadays but when I picked mine up 6 years ago it only had 232 on the clock. I bet there are a couple more low mileage beauty queens out there still..

Sure wish I could afford her Cry. Cost and storage space at my place... I figure if I buy another bike I better be ready to start making alimony payments Shocked

Good luck with the sale. cooldude

I like those size matters emblems on the sides.  I also saw today at walmart the emblem 'limited edition' and would like to add that stick on to the front fork also.

Her she is! Finally have her running with the help of BigBF, thanks Bill! Miles are actual, Bill has confirmed this is a new bike basically. She was born in October of '96' and sold as a '97' I believe and correct me if I am wrong, she is the 96th Tourer ever made? See VIN picture. She does have 306 miles on her now, I have ridden her some since the pic.

Hate to tell you this but it is not the 96th Tourer made.  It IS the 96th California Tourer made.  The key is the SC344.  That indicates a California Emissions Tourer.  My Tourer was made in October of '96 also and it's variant code is SC343 which indicates it's a 49 State Emissions Tourer and is the 287th one of those made.  You can do more VIN research on Dag's website.  http://www.valkyrienorway.com/VIN%20NUMBERS.html
