I'll be 371 years old in dog years in a couple of weeks, so to celebrate I went and got my first tattoo. One of my buddies asked me, "Is that sort of some mid-life crisis thing?" To which I replied, "Yep.... and I couldn't afford an expensive sports car, so I got a tattoo."

I must of looked at 5000 images before I found a drawing by an artist titled, "Dragonrider" ... and it now graces my right shoulder and upper arm. What do y'all think?

You're still going to Eureka Springs aren't you? It looks like we have about 10 people and 6 or so bikes going from Florida so far.

FLsix, keep your eye on the Florida board. There's also a few riders in that SW area as well...check the board.

Welcome to VRCC... as John said, check out the Florida forum. The folks on the west and in central Florida seem to be a bit more active about getting together.

Naples is only 140 miles from me... easy ride. I like that area and would like to ride around and see more of it. We'll get together sometime soon.  Cool

I'll PM you with my contact info.

Kinda like the comercial a few years back of the football player that had a giant Eagle tattooed across his back.  He was showing it to his teammate buddies when the coach came in and told him he was traded to the Dolphins...

(I think is the way it went)

I do like the Dragon.  Some have funny/weird looking heads but yours looks good, like a Dragon should.(imo)
And if you do buy a HD no biggie, you'll just have a tattoo of a dragon.

One suggestion:
It needs wings.

I prefer dragons with wings as well but I didn't really want to go that big... and I couldn't find a suitable drawing of another dragon with wings AND a rider.

Looks great.  Just don't get one with asian script unless you really trust your tattoo guy.  There was a sitcom on several years back where this big black guy who had a tattoo on his arm consisting of asian script, met his buddy in Chinatown.  While there, they needed to pick up some stuff in a local grocery store.  While they were waiting in line to pay, several of the old chinese doods that were always hanging around started giggling and pointing at his tattoo.  He finally couldn't stand it anymore and asked them what the problem was.  They told him it was his tattoo.  He said it meant strength and righteousness.  They said no, it meant of two men who love each other, you are the woman.

...He said it meant strength and righteousness.  They said no,...

Yeah, I often wonder about that.

One of my son-in-laws tattoo is of some chinese sign/word and he says he was told it means good fortune, or something like that, and my daughter (his wife) asked "Are you sure? It could mean salt and pepper".
So now they refer to it as the "salt and pepper" tattoo.
He got it when he was like 18 and last month he just had it covered/modified with another tattoo, something that can't be mistaken, i forget what though.

Yup. I am going and really looking forward to it. I plan to meet up with Grumpy at a Chrome Shop near FL Trnpk & I-75 JCT on SR RT 44. BTW, I like your Tat, just pokin' fun. I have a nephew that had his wife's name on his arm. Now she is his Ex, and the current GF objected. The name became a tribal band. laugh

I've heard that putting a name in ink on your body is to guarantee that you'll be getting a "cover up" tat later on.  2funny

I assume the Florida contingent will meet up at Wildwood where 75 and the Turnpike converge. "Tank" lives south of me in Ft Lauderdale so I imagine we'll meet down this way and ride up to Wildwood.... In any case, there's a good bit of time to work out the details.

Yup. I know Grumpy is working out a route of State Routes rather than Super Slabs. I'm quite happy no matter where we travel, as long as it is on the Valks!!! cooldude
