Love that show. Would love to be able to find a place where you could shoot at targets like they do.

Great show. It's the only shooting show the wife watches and nearly the only TV show we watch together.

Chris Cheng beat out Greg Littlejohn just now, pretty cool to be able to shoot all kinds of weapons. Chris pulled it off with a split second shot for the win, pretty dead even heat. Hey, an if an IT tech can beat out a federal police officer, there is hope for us? I wonder why Littlejohn took so long to fire the last shot to win with the grenade launcher since he was ahead of Chris blowing up the first target?

I like the competition, but I dislike the cheerleader, yelling moderator, whatever his name is.

Agree, he'd tick me off yelling like that while doing the competitions. I'd yell over to him to shut his yap if I was there.

the moderator/host is Colby from the first or second survivor. that was an astoundingly close final, an IT guy has the glory. no police/military back ground.

When you're shooting competitions, you mentally tune out everything going on around you. It's you, your gun, the target and your next shot. We call it being in the zone or in the bubble. During the 2002 National Police Shooting Championships, I took High Marksman in Distinguished Revolver. I was told afterward by one of the line judges I was singing during the 50 yard stage. He saw my lips moving and came over to determine if I was communicating with someone. I was stunned. He was too. He said in all his years of competition, he had never seen or heard of anyone doing that. I was so much in the zone, I wasn't aware of it. Neither were the competitors to my left and right. If you ask the Top Shot competitors, they probably never heard Colby. He's there for the color commentary. Marty

He annoys the crap out of me too. Especially with his over enunciating everything and being all ultra dramatic. I gotta tell ya, I had been considering trying out after season 1 and 2. I watchedand thought "I haven't seen anyone do anything that I couldn't do". Then in season 3 they really ramped up the difficulty and now I'm not so sure. But hey, if some IT guy can do it...

Marty I used to throw darts competitively in a noisy bar, I never heard any background noise while at the line. same sorta thing i suppose.

My point was not that the moderator disturbs the competitors who are wearing ear plugs (and they probably voice-over the show anyway), my point is he disturbs me with all his BS huckster drama. If I watch, I just mute the sound.

I'd need to get in alot better shape to compete on that show. what exactly does it mean to 'master' a firearm? I've tinkered with many, many primative weapons including blowguns, long bows, bolos, slings. I was surprised to see the atlatl in this season. I've never thrown one, never shot a crossbow. hey go for it, it would be a once in a lifetime gig.

I'd need to get in alot better shape to compete on that show. Actually that's one of the areas where they've really ramped up difficulty; the physical exertion component. I'm confident that with some intensive practice and getting reacquainted with some archaic weapons (I haven't shot a bow in a long time) that I could turn in a respectable showing in terms of marksmanship. I might not win but I wouldn't embarrass myself. But all that running around might kill my fat ass.
