Had a bad wreck the other day. One of the 3 that will stick in my head forever. Esp the part when the dad says 'save my baby please.'  Cry My partner said it was 2 yrs to the month of a very similar accident we had on the same road thats still in our heads. Couldnt sleep that night much between runs. To many images. I've seen alot of blood and guts but this was worse. My p took it hard but we were glad we were working it together.
Hug your kids and say thx to your local FF & EMT's. You have no idea what we go through.  Sad

Can't imagine what you go through on a day to day basis...  Just try to remember the ones you save, and know that we really appreiciate what you do.

Fudgie-i worked as a volunteer fireman and drove and assisted on the ambulance. I was starting basic E M T courses at the hospital when i could fit them in with my truck drivig schedule. My hat is off to you and your partner. I have images from almost 40 years ago that STILL give me nightmares. Thanks for what you do and RIDE SAFE.

it must be tough when kids are involved, I see parents doing vastly dangerous manuevers with 'baby on board'. I think back to my own childhood and remember we weren't even strapped in  Lips Sealed

i can't imagine the pain that you have to internalize, and just do your job.  you are one of the special ones brian (and your partner) that help others everyday.  i have a friend who is a hospice nurse.  i've told her that i could never do that.  take care of someone, meet their familys, and watch them die. tuff tuff tuff.  God Bless

i'm married to a hospice nurse. been one for 25 years. helped her mother and father through.
also had  2 12 year olds go through. that was really tough.

spent many years working x-ray, some in the e.r., we got them from the para medics.

many times i was really glad i didn't see the accident. i think toughest were the burn victims.
there a some jobs i just couldn't do.

I think it takes a special breed to do what you do Fudgie.  You guys are on the front lines everyday. Many people would not be here if it weren't for you and the amazing work you do.

All I can say is "Thank You" .

Good cheers to you and your partner.

I have experienced some of the tragic things you guys take care of on the race to the hospital in the back end off that bouncing meat wagon.

I think the EMT's are better IV needle inserter's in the nation.

I've been in hospitals where IV's were being (trying to) inserted and they have either gone for an EMT to assist or a Air Medical Nurse to do it.

Cheers to you and your partner.

Don't you and your partner participate in what ever competition you used to give us updates on and I believe you won several times.

Sorry Bro, kids are the worst and stay in your head the longest. Doing CPR on a 1 week old  preemie that weighed about 6 pounds is something that still haunts me sometimes, usually when I least expect it.

Not this partner but another of the same level as I, but yes we use to do EMS compitition every year. They have not done it in 2 or so years. Not sure if they ever will. We left in 1st place so thats kinda nice to go out like that.  Roll Eyes

I owe a large debt to EMT's and critical care nurses.  Thank you for being out there, Fudgie.  They can't possibly pay you enough.

It's too bad they don't hold annual reunions of the people that are walking around today because you were there.

Thanks to you for what you and your fellow EMT and Firemen do. If it were not for your type I do not know if I would have my wife today, she had a broken neck in our crash, it was properly cared for by both the fire responders and Paramedics.
Fudgie no CI debriefing for your department? We started that and it helped alot of people. Sometimes it is not one incident that gets you (altho one can add ALOT) but the years of them adding up, the cumlative stress that gets you in the end.
A prayer for you to help deal with this one.

Whenever I'm stuck in a big unexpected traffic backup, I used to say "For this wait, I BETTER see a body!" until one day... I did...

I don't say that anymore...

Thanks to all ya'll for what ya' do... You don't get paid well enough. You wouldn't be getting paid enough if you made ten times what you make.
