Hey Fudgie:
Sturgis is my hometown(not that it matters) but I think you mean "66" not "62".

That's the way I went to Inzane last year. The road is good, the only city of any size that it takes you through is Battle Creek and I sailed right through there after a gas stop. You can pick up 66 right in downtown Sturgis. If ya need any more info, email me.

66 is good, 2 lane and not much else and some scenery...
12 or Michigan Ave runs all the way to Detroit,  2 lane and has a few nice areas...... Marshall, Quincy(ton on Antique shops) along that route

I have used 66 many times to cut through from 69 to Ann Arbor......

Best way that I'd recommend is to go up the West side of the state..... 131 or some of the 2 lane....

Less traffic and then cut over to Grayling...... maybe thru Cadillac... but most of the 2 lane along there you can make good time.....

Alot of other Michiganders will probly chime in, but better roads and scenery on the west side...

All depends on what you what to hit along the way.....

I will most likely be heading up on Friday to our place in Grayling with my Dad....tentative plan..... But Im out in the Detroit area...

Lots of small bergs on 66 but, is an excellent road to ride on. You can find a place to stop almost any time you need to, and speeds are around 60 almost the whole distance. Get north of Stanton, and the road widens out and is smooth as glass. Not much curves tho. And best of all, you will be riding almos past my house cooldude

Took a nice 4 lane outta Lansing last year to the Q. But I may have Kits 250, another 600, and a crotch rocket with me and 66 is a straight shot out of the house.

The best one and that's not saying a lot is a short detour I in Kalkaska.  Take 72 west to the rapid city road just at the bottom of the hill.  That's the road to Torch lake. Ive never been to that strip club bu N MI is not known for its strip clubs.
