Yes. It's taller at the back, and will scrunch the nose of your seat, but it fits. The seat can be adjusted by an upholsterer if you want...

I love mine on my 97.  With std tank, running fast, I have hit reserve at 74 miles!  The extra gas is GREAT!

Plus, I think the larger size looks better.  The Valk is a big bike, and I like the looks with the larger tank.

You will need to get a plug for the sending unit hole in the Interstate tank. Big BF sells them. If you buy a new tank from Honda (spendy) it may come with a plug. Depending on how you run your handle bars, you may have to adjust them upward. With the exception of seat/tank contact, the tank is a direct fit.

Here is my 97 with an Interstate tank......
With the Corbin Standard seat I pulled back the seat cover, cut back the nose of the seat pan, then pulled the cover back down for the larger tank.....

.......and with the Corbin Stinger seat I put a spacer under the latch on the seat to lift it up enough to clear the larger tank.

Has anyone taken advantage of the sending unit and added an aftermarket fuel gauge to a non-IS model?

Have a buddy with a tourer and am thinking of ways to hook him up.

I put the motosens unit on my IS tank on my tourer.  Motosens are made in Germany by a Valk owner, to match the valk headlight and speedo/tach units.  Very high quality.  Nice looking. Uses OEM sender.  Mine is very accurate.

Hey MP, I ran my tank empty today, went to reserve (pingel) at 160 miles, got me 15 more miles, took (5.5 gallons on fill)  ???  It was a tank of E10, think I might have made 200 on regular.  That was 65-75 mph solo, no wind. 35.6 mpg.  Hoser  cooldude

You always get so much better mileage!  But then, you are 100# lighter than I am!   LOL
