a compilation of some of the best bad drivers the bay area has to offer.

(the driver in this vid in several instances is way too close to traffic in front of him)

If that's the worst the bay area has to offer...I should start driving around there. That looks like normal everyday idiocy to me, deal with it all day every day. I've often thought about mounting a camera in my rig, I think it will save my ass someday as far as who's to blame in an accident. I also contemplate mounting a wireless camera on my trailer.

After driving many years in a 379 Pete, like was shown in the vids, that is ordinary big city traffic.  The only time I saw following too close, was after his space was taken away by a car moving in.

if I'm at speeds above 50 I tend to leave a bunch of real estate in front of my grill.
at least 250 to 300 feet. but I'm just a bit paranoid about traffic and the dumb things they do.

at one point in the vid he was too close to a dump body.

truckers are just like everybody else out there. good ones and stupid ones.

for the ones who like to tailgate, i hope some other brain dead 80,000 lbs dumbass is tailgating their wife/son/daughter/granddaughter/boyfriend, whatever.

i hear them (truckers) on the cb all the time complaining about traffic, stupid 4-wheelers getting in their way.  that's part of the job. just like the 4-wheelers have to get to work or shopping to buy the crap the truckers are hauling.

again, there are plenty of professional truckers, just like there are plenty of safe/courtious 4-wheel/2-wheel drivers. it only takes a few to piss off everybody.

off my soapbox now

Amen brother. Continue to do that. I drive a gasoline tanker in Southern California for a major oil company. 25 years of safe driving. Things have changed so much out there since I started driving. And yes, there are some HORRIBLE truck drivers out there as well as car drivers. Now it's a matter of survival every shift. I am so glad to get home safe to my family every day. This a motorcycle forum, so I usually say ride safe, but in the sprit of this thread, drive safe all.

Just last week I installed a videocam in mine to record my drives to Dallas and back to Houston every day.  CYA
