Well hoser, the only reason you got to meet me today was because I needed a new helmet for this season.  Next season it will be time for a new winter full face helmet.

I get a new one every 5 years, or if it gets slammed hard, I get a new one before that 5 years is up.

I got 6 out of my last one just because I was trying to figure out what new helmet I wanted for summer time riding.

I always wear mine even when I lived in a few states that didn't require it.  Why?  I still have the old Bell full face with the snap on visor that saved my dad's life in 1980.  It sits on a shelf right next to the Shoei full face that saved my life in 2005.

I don't judge those who prefer to go without a helmet, but for me it's no contest.

I always wear my Nolan N-102 with a jacket, gloves and boots.  Jackets and gloves vary depending on the season but I always wear insulated police boots.  I find in the summer they keep my feet from getting too hot and keep my feet warm in cold weather plus they have a gore tex liner for rain.

I never did wear one when just riding around town.
That also included my commute to work.
I only wore it when on the slabs when riding distances not even locally.
4 years ago I had an accident leaving a friends driveway.
I went right over the handle bars sans helmet.
I was knocked out for over 3 hours amongst other things.
Even though I have zero memory of the accident and ambulance ride.
I now wear it even if Im just going around the block.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I noticed today coming back from a transfer I saw about 40 bikes out. Only noticed 2 riders without lids.

When Kit got her bike out last week she started with the 3/4. Her idea. Which is surprising outta her. She used the novey the other day and it was better.
