My oldest Alana, in the pic above which was just before she was diagnosed with Lymphoma is now a survivor and is again doing a run for the foundation

This is her email and the link if anyone would care to help out

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hi family and friends,

For the next few weeks, I will be training to participate in the New York City Women’s 10K Race in Central Park with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising money to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2007. It was mentally and physically draining but I beat the disease and am now considered an official cancer survivor!! 4 years cancer free - YAY! But that’s not enough for me. I need to help other cancer patients and families so we can limit the amount of people that have to experience what I went through. That’s why I am dedicated to raising money on behalf of LLS to find a cure and better treatments for this absolutely dreadful disease.

This is where I need your help.

I will be training with Team In Training so I can finish the 10K (the longest race I have ever attempted to run!) and I need your support. Not only do I want to make it to the finish line in Central Park but we need to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please use the following link to donate online and to learn more about my progress.  I encourage you to please share this link with others - every contribution really does make a difference!!  http://pages.teamintraining.org/nyc/nyrr10k12/arogersgxf

On behalf of LLS, thank you very much for your support.  We greatly appreciate your generosity.

    Thank you!!

    Alana

Naturally I am profoundly greatful for the blessings bestowed on my daughter for her recovery and am proud of her for helping the cause of ridding the world of cancers.  I wish all my friends suffering that a cure be found in their lifetimes and in time to help

Oss, it's gratifying to see that young lady healthy again and able to take part in the run. A little personal history; I was adopted at age two. Many years later, I found my bio-mother, plus a sister and brother which I didn't know I had. They were all younger than me. I also found out from my mother that my bio-father died of Lymphoma at age 56, a younger brother at age 17 of it, and a still younger brother at age 14 from it. My remaining brother which I was able to find, did have it and is in remission. I was given a history of what they all went through and in advanced stages is a horrible existence.

Our best to you and your family.

Hello Alana,

I am more than happy to help out. We have lost too many friends to this Killer, and applaud you for the strength you are showing in wanting to help out others. cooldude It's not much compared to all you and others have gone through.

We are praying for your continued health, and a successful result to your fund raising efforts. Smiley

Thanks for letting us know, Oss.  You have a very special daughter who not only beats this but then offers help to those still suffering.  Hope my small contribution helps.

Great Girl, Great cause!

BTW, She's got a great Dad too!  After riding up with a small medicine bag of Bonnie's herbals for our ailing brother Bonzo, I broke down on the goat trail on the way back with my little buddy E-Man co-piloting.  Oss stayed with us until the tow came (except for when he rode to bring back food and drink), then rode home and met us where the bike was carried, then drove us home.

Helping out two brothers in one day......Ossless!

aw shucks Gary

I like to think that any one on this board who I have met  would have done the same

I have said many times that buying the Valkyrie and joining this club and meeting our members is one of the best things that have happened to me

you did the right thing leaving the bike even though it started right up once at the honda
shop (which of course is closed till tomorrow) Was the bike still there this morning when you went  to check on it?

Thank you all for helping  Maybe someday no child (or adult) will be hopeless looking at these insidious cancers
