I'm worth less than I was when I was working, pension is quite a bit less than the pay I was getting.   Thanks for the post, very well written article.   Grin  hoser

Devl;
I salute you and your son for the heroic work Firefighters do every day!  Smiley
Unfortunately, these days Government employees are described as greedy, lazy and worthless to our social fabric. ???
Just ask a politician.  tickedoff

But, when Public Servants show up at your door because your house or car is on fire; or because a family member or
a friend is hurt, etc, etc... all that BS goes out the window! Lips Sealed
Of course, some critics might say, "...well, that's different, they're saving lives!" ... And the beat goes on... tickedoff

Suffice it to say, I honor those who unselfishly work hard, no matter what their vocation is. Lips Sealed
Firefighter, Cops, Cement workers, Bicycle-repair people, Nurses, Truckers, Pizza-delivery people... on and on.
They all make a contribution for the betterment of our collective lives. Smiley Especially those who by the nature of their job
put their lives on the line on a daily basis. Lips Sealed

Thank you for reminding us about the value of human life. Great post! coolsmiley
