Zaphod Beeblebrox

You tell me the answer  Cheesy

42... But what's the QUESTION?

What's the answer to life, the universe and everything?

I'd have never seen that, and I was TRYING to look for something other than math...  uglystupid2

Being an injunear during the day REALLY makes me dependent on my math brain.  The other part withers a little.

Over 200 views but only 8 correct responses.  The clue is in the statement about pre schoolers getting it faster than anyone else.  Pre schoolers haven't learned math so it isn't a math problem; however, pre schoolers do know shapes and the shape that occurs in those problems is circles.  For example, the number 8 has 2 circles.  The clue to solving these kind of puzzles is to look for patterns.

I must be higher educated because I still don't see a pattern. I look at it and keep finding myself trying to figure it out and then reminding myself it isn't a math problem and I still end up not seeing it.  Cheesy tickedoff

I still don't get how it is 2 either, please explain so us 1 year old minds can understand.  I do not see a pattern or shape out of the numbers, anything else on why it is 2?  My kids nor wife get it either.

Don't look at the numbers as numbers, look at them as drawings. The number 8 is comprised of 2 circles, one on top of the other. The pattern in the puzzle is the number of circles in each group of numbers.

For instance, in the puzzle, the first group, 8809. Each 8 has 2 circles, the 0 has 1 circle and the 9 has one circle, thus 6 circles total.
7111 is comprised of no numbers that have circles in them, thus = 0
6666 each 6 has a single circle in it, thus = 4

See it now?

The only way I could get 2 out of this was to think back to the 70's TV commercial with the 2 eggs in the frying pan.  This is your brain on................math puzzles.
And I teach your kids.

Get this out of your left brain.  This is NOT a math problem.

Vell, I come in on the last train, and I'd say the answer is 2, that be a two.

Only reason I figured it out was my grand daughter was over this weekend and she had some homework.     This was similiar to one of her questions.    She explained it to Grandpa.    Bless her little heart.
