Lil Jimmys Fun Run was exceptionally well done. Lil Jimmy passed away last year leaving a very large medical obligation. This run's proceeds went to alleviate that debt. His wife, a patient of mine, was visibly moved. 94 miles of riding, all on back roads with lots of twisties, route well marked, 6 stops to roll dice and earn points for prizes. Stops included gas stations, sonics, roadside parks, and a couple of biker bars. All well organized. Back at the Cotton Gin, live band (really good), silent auctions, door prizes, bike games, bike show (even a division for "metric" bikes and sport bikes), dunkin booth, and, of course, adult beverages. Several hundred bikes, all flavors. Even a Valk! (now its related) The Cotton Gin has opened a great venue for outdoor events. Permanent stage, sound, lights, covered area with ceiling fans, fenced in so it becomes a private club (adult beverages). I think we will hear a lot from them in the future. They are serving their full menu (yumm, chicken fried steak) outdoors in the new area along with a complete bar. Oh well, great day. Now it's on to escorting the Texas Vietnam Memorial Wall. C ya next Sat. the 30th!!!
