My guesses were intermittent ground fault or starter button contacts problem

It died both times facing uphill. Wonder if that could be coincidence or not

Strange that it suddenly had the ability to start as you got it off the towtruck

Not yet.  Mechanic called late in the afternoon and I went over everything I added/changed, and then all the signs and symptoms.  I'm certain it was electrical.  We'll see.
