Take a swollen, sore leg. Wrap two layers of bandages on it, then a sock and an ace bandage over that. Then force a motorcycle boot over the whole thing and it feels like crap.

But then, when that motorcycle boot rests on a footpeg, perspective starts to change. When the highway, the cornfields, the woods and God’s sky begins to unroll between your handlebars and the cool morning wind fills your jacket, perspective changes even more.

And then you realize, that tight, uncomfortable boot, feels like FREEDOM.

The Doc put off my return to work another week. I go back on the 14'th now. I'm sure I'll be riding to work so the responsible thing is to get in some practice.  cooldude

I sort of know what you mean.  Had knee surgery at age 40 a couple years back end of April and couldn't ride all summer long still healing.  Took 3-4 months and tried to put weight on the knee after 2 months sitting on the bike but didn't feel comfortable yet taking it for a spin.  Longest 3-4 months of my life seemed like.  Haven't ridden my I/S for a week or two until today finally to work and felt like a younger hooligan all over again.  70 mph all day long in a 55 mph zone is sure to get me some tickets soon if I don't watch it.

Very true.  I rode yesterday to try out my new windshield.  Only about 25 miles but it felt good.

I'm riding again today. I seem to have more obstacles pit in my path tho. Arthritis in both wrists and knees but I'll figure something out.  I feel blessed to be able to still ride at my age.  Living in a senior apt/condo, I see my share of canes, walkers, scooters, and seniors who only get out when their kids come and take them.

Sometimes, I wonder if it's the future for me but then I got on two wheels and forget my train of thought.

Riding is a GREAT ATTITUDE ADJUSTER but we all know that!

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.
