The Twilight Zone

« on: May 10, 2012, 09:57:02 AM »

My wife and I went on vacation, about 700 miles on the Valk and just about everytime (about 90%) we stopped I got a compliment on the Valkyrie. Now I've had a lot of compliments on my bikes through the years including my VTX I have now, but nothing compared to the Valkyrie! It really made me feel good but after a certain point I'd tell my wife " not again!" as some started walking up to us and were kinda in a hurry to leave!  Grin,  But I'm not complaining!

We were eating at Hardees and I watched a guy not pull in the parking lot but pulled off the side of the road and walked up to look at it! It seems the chrome and the 6 cylinders, the size of the engine really gets their attention!

Thought I would share what most here probably already know.  Wink

I had a 6 AM meeting with an accountant at Starbucks this AM.

One guy pulled in from the road, parked, got out and gawked... then came in to talk.  The said he should probably buy coffee while he was there... then chatted me up until my appointment showed up.

Not too shabby for a 10 year old scooter.

Yeah it's a good feeling and makes ya feel proud!  Mine is 14 years old and the ones that doesn't know their motorcycle ask if it's a new model Honda!!   2funny

I was coming out of Wally World yesterday just to put away the new shades i had just purchased. coolsmiley A gal came from the parking lot as i was closing and locking the trunk. Wink She complimented "what a nice motorcycle" which i thanked her for. Cool Being nice i did not point out how filthy my fat gal is. Grin I've been riding her-not washing her. Cheesy Again-not to shabby for a 13 year old machine. cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Pam an I went riding Saturday with a group of Harley riders. When we got to our lunch destination one of the women riding with her husband got off the back of her husbamds harley, looked at my bike and said that is a beautiful bike. I think it made her husband mad. I just smiled.

It seems to be the engine that gets their attention. I have been asked if it is a car engine before. One kid asked me how many cylinders it was, I told him, and then he asked if it was a Porsche engine. I laughed and said "Yes, yes it is" !

Yes it is the engine that gets the attention. I've been told that it's a car engine and I've said "yeah it's a 2.5 liter 6 cylinder! Lol- about a 153 ci!! -and they believe it!  2funny 2funny crazy2
