I think this is just wrong! This kid is old enough to be eating Happy Meals but not this happy! There's also a link in this article to some more on the story and more pics of the same. http://www.wistv.com/story/18253022/yep-im-nursing

It isn't like she is beating him or coercing him. Nor has he reached puberty. I can't see anything exposed in the pic, so what is the problem. It is her kid.

"ennnnnh, ennnnnh" I'm going in the other room right now and try that with my wife. Something new to try that I haven't already tried!

The problem is our society's values have digressed to the point that this kind of magazine cover is acceptable to millions. This will be in every doctor and dentist office in the country. Time magazine has no class.

I remember years ago when I listened to Dr. Laura, some guy called in because his wife stopped lactating and he wanted to know how she could get started up again....As it turned out the guy had been breast feeding off his wife for the last 20 years. I almost peed myself and Dr. Laura was speechless. Nothing wrong with breast feeding in public...unless you are a 40 something year old.

Hey, don't knock that free nourishing food. It saved my life when I was born a preemie. Dr delivered me at the farm, and told my grandmother not to get too attached as I wouldn't live till morning. Next morning the Dr and the Funeral Home Director showed up at the farm. Dr asked if they were ready to let the body go, grandma said, if you can get him off that tit long enough ask him yourself. That was like 79 years, 8 months ago. Sheet, look at me now, a sexual intellect. If ya don't know what that means, send me a PM for my reply. LOL. Actually, I'm a very helpful person and will do anything for anyone if at all possible, till they fork me, then they is on their own in my book. I'm very soft hearted, but don't cross me, I don't get mad, I just get even.

Honestly, the boy may seem a little old but that's between him and his Mom and Dad. I've got no problem with it and I've got no problem with women breastfeeding in public. Compared to drinking milk and eating milk products which came from a cow's boob (which I do daily) a kid enjoying natures happy meal doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
Anybody remember when David Carradine's wife did so on Johnny Carson?

well almost What is the name of the diet The suckle on me diet?
Wonder what the kid will think in 10 years when he sees the pic
+1 on the MILF part
Not offended by the pic
But I remember when women would have a little blanket they would cover the area so as not to offend the sensibilities of others and for their own modesty
Sadly that is missing today and I am desensitized not to have mentioned it at the top of my post

I don't think anybody here finds any problem with breast feeding. The controversy is about the advanced age of the "baby". Since I started the thread I should have been specific as to my own thoughts. I find it to be distasteful for a mother to do this after what would be considered a "normal" age to wean a baby. Some folks say this is ok since they're comparing it to "abuse" cases. I'm not saying that I think it's abusive to the child. But I think it's pretty quirky for a mother to want to continue the practice with a child old enough to eat like an adult. Just my opinion and we all know what that's worth. Otherwise, I have absolutely no problem with mothers breast feeding, in public or anywhere else. I think it's a wonderful thing! I get really pissed off when I read stories about somebody or a business kicking a mother out for doing that.

First we get a huge dose of Bullying is bad and must stop then we get a photo of a 5 year old kid suckin on his Mom's teat on a National mag.
This will not end well for the kid. He will be the poster boy for the perpetual ass kickin.
Kinda like naming your boy Sue.

tried it 10 years ago, doesn't taste that great, trust me - I've heard of balls of steel, this lady takes the cake with teats of steel - By looking at the kids tummy, he is being well fed - I would think pretty soon once the kid is mid 4 year old, you would think he would stop and realize it is not normal especially once he starts pre-school age 4 and asks at school if my mommy can come to school so I can get my morning milk instead of the other kids in a milk carton -

this is a little over the top, but this should end pretty quick with peer pressure. I remember my daughter loving that purple dinosaur back in preschool, the FIRST DAY in kindergarten BAM!!! she comes home and says "Barney is for babies!" I almost cried I guy I hung out with back in the early eighties told me he wore diapers until 1st grade, one day into it and he was in underoos countries that have inconsistent food sources often have children breast feed as old or maybe older then the lad pictured here. this keeps a viable (for the most part) food source for the under nourished kid.
