can they articulate positive positions on issues
Do they give to charity
How do they treat people who work for them

Now those are more relevant questions

Americans (citizens) are generally not as politically savy as they should be. They are apathetic, uninformed, and reluctant to get involved. Yet they complain only when the general economy and especially the cost of living starts to effect their spending habits (or loss thereof).

Just how may of the posters on this board are registered voters, or have declared their political party membership? My experience is those that cry the loudest are the most apathetic when the time comes to cast their votes. Many have complained that blacks and other minorities were targeted to be registered just before the last elections. OK, then why didn't the Republicans do likewise? You can't count on others to vote for you.

My parents were immigrants to this country, and they instilled in me that the right to vote is essential to being a true citizen.

I don't always agree with Monsieur Paxton but I haven't noticed him being particularly disrespectful and I for one enjoy people who get conversations started. Isn't that why we're here on a discussion forum?
