a/k/a Stuffy. '99 I/S Valk Roadsmith Trike

De Pere, WI (Green Bay)

« on: May 11, 2012, 07:39:24 PM »

He's the husband of my recently passed daughter in Louisiana, had been wanting to get another Valk. He had a nice black I/S a couple years back but with her health they weren't using it and needed the cash so sold it. Now he has been out looking and got a lead on a low mileage Valk, 1999 with 8k miles. He contacted the guy, older fella just shy of 70 and doesn't ride it, original owner. Last night he went over to see it, started right up and sounds great but has Cobras which he doesn't like. He asked if the guy would like to sell it, which he confirmed, then said he wanted to get at least $4500. Kevin told me he about broke his own arm getting his wallet out. One thing he was fortunate with....the old gent had the carbs gone through a few months ago, cost him $1000 or he wouldn't have asked so much for the bike. Gee, what a shame.  Grin  Needs new plastic for the windshield(apparently aftermarket), from what he described it's a Standard, has no bags, just the corider seat and sissy bar. He's a big guy and this Valk is just what he needs. He had tried out a Honda Ace 750, said he felt like he was riding with a roller skate stuck up his butt.

He joked with me then, said he might not even take it off the trailer when he goes to pick it up if it ever stops raining. I asked why leave it on the trailer, he said he heard his father-in-law(me) is pretty good working on Valkyries. I had to laugh, told him if

Even though your daughter is gone the memories of her AND a good son-in-law is a blessing.

He got a good deal on that Valk and it sounds like he can take it off the trailer for now. cooldude

The bike will be some good therapy for him after his recent loss. Maybe you can talk him into going to Inzane.
