it's a reminder that we are a big fractous family, the word in there that matters is "family". if anyone comes in and starts kicking sand in our sandbox, well they will find a unified front at least for a while.

we fight among ourselves, but don't let that fool ya into thinking we won't come to each others aid.

"D-D-D-Did you ever wonder why we'd have to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?"

Those little Filipinos would have no chance against me. But I'd be happy to buy a round either way. 

It's not quite the same thing but another story that came out of 9-11 was the superhuman effort that ATC, flight crews and ground crews put on to get all of the air traffic on the ground safely. After 9-11 the DOT reviewed ATC's actions during the crisis and returned the report. There was a section for recommended changes to procedure in the event of another attack of that nature. There were none.

Boat people are also a different breed. There's an old sailor's code that says you MUST offer aid to a vessel in distress and it's taken very seriously, even by a lot of regular Joes out in their Boston Whalers looking for bluefish. You're out there sometimes on your own and there but for the grace of god... you don't wanna be the guy watching a seaworthy boat pass your sinking wreck.

I never fly, I was trying to get on a flight ot Florida from Orygun going to my Mom's funeral the morning they attacked us.

I would just like to sit down over a few drinks with Jamie for no particular reason. He's intelligent, although misguided politically , well read, loves Valks and airplanes, two of my favorite things. I think it would be a fascinating conversation..
