So Cal

« on: May 13, 2012, 01:39:28 PM »

Actually, yesterday...

I went for a 300 mile ride, me on the Valk and my fattest cousin on his Rune. We were cruising along the slab 'bout 65. A beautiful 90-degree day.  Wink

Suddenly, we were passed by what must have been about 50 bikes. Most were Japanese large cruisers of all makes;
with a couple of Harley Baggers here and there.  Undecided

They all looked like brand new... loaded with chrome accessories flashing in the sun! The group was up in the high 80's perhaps 90 mph. We lost sight of them. Sad

Then, about ten miles down the road we saw them stopped on both sides of the road a little bunch, here and there for over 1/2 mile. Shocked

We slowed down and stopedp thinking there had been an accident. Thank God, nobody sustained any physical injuries but for a couple of bruised Egos...
A pristine-beautiful Harley had pooped out! Roll Eyes

Well cousin and I continued our journey riding my "cheesy" 2000 VALK Standard and cousin on his butt ugly Rune. (He, he, he.)  Evil
As we were taking off most everyone was checkin out our rides as if we  just had landed from Mars. coolsmiley

About 10 minutes later, they came flyin by again. Except that the size of the bunch was less than half its original size. Sad As they went by us, everyone slowed down just to check us out, smiles and thumbs up! cooldude

This time there were no Harleys in the group...  Embarrassed ??? Lips Sealed

Valkyries are forever! laugh angel

Ahem!  Barber Motorsports is NOT in LA.  It's in North Alabama.

Well I suppose you are right Marty. I think of anything south of I-20 as LA, but, looking at a map, I stand corrected.  cooldude

Barber is the best motorcycle museum I have ever seen. Love it!  cooldude
