Shay and I rode down to Guymon, OK for the 5 state poker run this weekend.
It was a great trip, a great run, and great people. We left Oklahoma, hit Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, & Kansas. The run itself was 300 miles with a stop in every state.
We did not know anyone there, but got to running with some guys that turned out to be from Kansas.
Sadly, I only saw 2 other valks there all weekend, both interstates. The one I did not have a chance to talk to, the other said this is his 3rd valk, and he has almost 100k on valks in the last few years. He was as you guessed a great guy.
It was pretty cold most of the run, and the last 60 miles we got wet, but all and all it was wonderful. I would love to go back to that area in june sometime, when it was a little warmer and sunnier so we could see more of the pretty country.
