Greetings!
I am still new and learning from everyone here.
If your bike broke down, and was not repairable from the roadway what would you do?
I have AAA, I think they will tow me to the nearest town.
Is there a road side assitance plan for bike owners?
Thanks,
BT

I have Progressive. $7 more for towing. Used them two years ago with my sidecar setup. GREAT service.
Also, they tow to Motorcycle shop, not just nearest town.

I live in Irving and Progressive seems to be the most aggressive motorcycle insurance company in this area at present. I just re-newed my policy for a year at $161. That includes towing. I have used the towing insurance a few times. I think most companies will tow bike up to 50 miles to wherever you want it at no extra charge.

I have coverage through AAA Plus. They will tow or service anything my wife or I am in or on, whether I own it or not. I have only had a bike towed once in the US, but I have a lot of peace of mind about it. And, it wasn't the Valk that needed towing.

Hey Big Tex , I have had good luck with Allstate Roadside Service in the city only with my Valk and my cars , but never on the road .... I heard about the roadside service the Goldwing GWRR bunch have and they swear by it ... I think it might be with the AMA , I think ...

A smart phone and an internet connection to post on the VRCC board is the best plan! There's a lot of truth in that! Or the phone number of a VRCC member who will likely be near a computer. When I had issues in Wisconsin/Michigan, I called RJ, and was quickly contacted by several VRCC folks willing to help. RTaz picked us up (a long drive on a holiday weekend for him), loaned us a vehicle to drive to Big Mike's to pick up an alternator, and then opened up his garage to Wizard to do the repairs. It's amazing what this group can do, and twice as amazing is what they WILL do!

The cool thing about the AMA RSA included with membership is that it applies TO ALL vehicles you own, not just motorcycles, it covers your cage as well. Plus I believe they have a higher towing limit (mileage). Worth looking into.
