When I ride my IS I tend to leave the visor up on my full face helmet.  Seem I get hit A LOT with bugs that make it OVER the fairing, UNDER my helmet shield and OVER my glasses to smack me dead center between the eyes.  I mean A LOT.  and they HURT too.

I feel for you dude.

It does sometimes seem the law of averages has been set aside.

I was once riding down the highway with four friends.  I was riding in a full face helmet with the visor up and whistling a tune.  The gap in my lips when I whistle isn't very large, but the first I felt of the intruder was when it hit the back of my throat.  I have no idea what variety it was, but apparently it was safely edible.   Shocked

I keep my faceshield down while riding hwy. speeds all the time and then always lift up in-town driving 30 mph and under for better venting/breathing.    I still get nailed by bugs and after a few days of riding only, the bugs are clobbered on the I/S windshield so bad it has to be cleaned after only 3-4 times out since hard to see thru the bugs on the shield all over.   I've hit a bird (sparrow sized thankfully) once also in the leg and that surely hurts worse going 60 mph than any bug will.  Always a good idea to wear eye protection no matter if have helmet on or not since a big bug could easily wipe you out if hit in the eye.

Honestly, the one that went straight down the throat I didn't taste.  The taste buds, as you know, are in the tongue.  I did wonder how long it took to die, what with not being chewed at all.   Undecided

Y'all should move to AZ. It's too hot here for bugs. They cook, dry up and blow away. Sure glad scorpions and rattlesnakes don't fly.

Not snorted, but inhaled mid-yawn.  It ended up in my lungs, and they hurt for a few days afterwords.  Sad

That's ANOTHER reason not to wear a helmet  Grin

Without a helmet, the target is so big for the bugs that they just

can't make up their mind on what to focus on so they miss you completely  2funny
