Wellllllllllll, He has his specs back AND the case back, But he still has problems see'in. Just got back from "Warriors Weekend". If you have not gone 120 MPH "With" SA PD, And it's a blast. Curtis and I got to run a Red light in front of SA's FINEST,and we rode 10 miles at 120 MPH "WITH" an escort. CENTEX had 2 reps. and they LOVED the VALKS. UNREAL experience, 14 Busses of WARRIORS and family and a mile + of bikes. AWESOME , AWESOME, FRIK'IN AWESOME.

Shiner/Goliad/Gonzalez areas sound great!

What day are you thinking?  I'll be back in town Saturday afternoon.  Sunday or Monday could be good depending on my son's baseball tournament schedule.

Right now my son's baseball team is on track to play at 6:30PM Monday...if they keep winning in the tournament.  Of course, if they loose a game everything changes!

If we work it right, I'd like to be back home right about then... anybody here ever been to the square in La Grange?

I hear "they gotta lotta nice girls down there!"

No seriously... La Grange has a cool downtown area.  If we headed north from Hallettsville, it's about forty minute ride.

We could meet in La Grange... meet, greet and eat.  Hang out... get some flashy bike pictures around the square.

Ride down to see the truss bridge at the Colorado... there's a park.  Snap a few more pics...

Hop on the bikes... ride to Shiner... maybe tour the brewery (I have never been there)... split up... ride back through the crazy traffic... home to wherever.  We can respectively explore both coming and going.

I'll need to check to see if the brewery will be doing tours... so that'll be pending... otherwise I would add that Shiner is a cool place for pictures too.  Like La Grange, the architecture there is pretty cool.  Remarkably undisturbed for that period of Texas settlement.

Does that sound alright for a rough draft?

Alrighty... we have some interest from folks I work with.

Local folks, Seguin, New Braunfels, San Marcos... we are meeting in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen at I-35 exit 205 at 9 AM Monday morning.

F-Stop... hope to see you there...

Greg... I'm guessing we'll meet up with you somewhere along the way... I'll leave that up to you...

I'm stoked!

P.S. The brewery is closed... =-(

At this point I have no clue... La Grange is so close to me it falls within the halo around my own home that I just sorta "dive through" going somewhere else.  So it;s a good chance to slow down and explore.

I once (many moons ago) ate at a somewhat marginal and overpriced Mexican place there... other than that... La Grange has traditionally been a "ride through" for me on my way to my mom's place.

Do you have time to scout someplace out in the internet... close to the square?  there are some places west of town along 71.  I'm easy!  I think jalapeno corn dogs wolfed down at a truck stop are the bomb!

I figure your judgement is better than mine...

As for time... let's say noon!

Greg suggested Orsaks if Fayetteville and they are open so
Orsaks it is, at noon, Monday.  So T if you have a headcount for me I can make a reservation.

It was great to finally meet Mary, Tim and Travis!  Wonderful day with wonderful people!

Fayetteville is a neat little town that has been able to keep it's small town ambience while the rest of the world goes nuts...

The town square sports this nifty courthouse...

...has a nice place to sit and chat...

...and some nice places to visit...

Somehow this old Ford fit right in...

I had to split off from the group to make my son's baseball tournament final -- Aidan was the starting pitcher and threw eight strikeouts giving up one (un-earned) run on two hits and no walks...they won 14-1 -- but I took a few back roads to dodge the holiday traffic...

My route took me on the toll road for a bit and this is what I found...

Thank you to all the men and women of our armed forces who have given so much to this great nation to make days like this possible.
