This is my observation and opinion. You use the term they got sucked in to suggest that they had no choice in the matter. It was their choice and the decision was there’s and they did not get forced I to it. Some people are like sheep and have to be a part of something and when things go wrong, it was always someone else’s fault and not their own. Sometimes in life you have to man up and stand on your own two feet. Sometimes we have to try to guide people before the make a serious mistake in life.

If you know them and are somewhat friends and able to speak to them away from the crowd/gang, would you consider talking to them to persuade them to NOT get into the gang or are you afraid they might do something bad to you or your belongings?
I saw a few minutes of the new show 'devils ride' involving a gang of bikers and really do not see the show lasting more than one season, if that. All they do is talk and talk and try to be bad _ss. Almost reminds me of the gang on the movie 'wild hogs'.
Nothing against riding in groups, but when that group goes out of their way to disturb (make worse) other peoples lives, then that is wrong.

What kind of mc is it? I, too, just joined a 3 piece patch mc. Not to worry, they're "good guys". Icing on the cake is they asked me if I was interested in their recently vacated Chaplain position!! To me it just don't get no better than that!!!!

I don't think "sucked in" means they had no choice. Sadly, to me , it means they felt a need to belong to something and that need was so strong it clouded their ability to actually understand what they were doing. I would imagine we've all done that to some degree - probably not a serious as their decision.

yeah... one of these guys is a real nice guy when he isnt drinking.. when he is drinking he thinks he is 10 ft. tall and wants to prove it.. I am cool with that as long as its without weapons.. thats just what happens in bars.. if ya dont like it then stay outa bars.. stupid is as stupid does. but NOW he has a patch, he thinks he is even tougher and he has applied for and gotten a concealed weapons license.. so rto recap. he thinks he is tough.. he now has a gang backin him and he is totin a gun.. the other guy is just plain naive.. he thought it was kinda like joinin the local snowmobile club.. they got their first taste of reality last weekend when they went on a poker run and ran into brother speed who is idahos badass biker gang.. the shirt almost hit the fan.. but they want to be somebody SO FRIGGIN BAD that its not gonna be pretty.. I am doing all I can to try and stop my town from having to deal with this crap.. I may get shot but OH WELL.

Gangs, Blood in and Blood out. Ain't for the timid and ain't for the weak. IT's for the Stupid Tough and the Crazy Brave. I am my own gang of one. Still need a few bros to get me home some nights. But I will fight my own fights, the way it should be. Toughest Gang in the US is the Pagans, none are more wicked tough than these guys. The gang that I belong to is a blood gang and we have initiations in blood and have many levels that we are put in. We are under orders and have our patches to prove it. There are Many more that are with us than are with them, because its a world wide fraternity. The numbers are to great to count. WE are never alone and always have help when we need it, in fact we are assigned a personal body guard and some have more than one. We are protected day and night and there is no part of our life that is not known by the heads of the club. They have influence in the highest places and no one doesn't know the leader. The club has its soldiers as well as commanders and finance and expertise in all areas. Not everyone that comes is chosen for this club and we have the look alikes too. It is a tough outfit and not for the timid of heart many have fallen away and just decided that they couldn't take it. They are dead and I have seen some like this already. like any club the rules are pretty tough but what I like is there is plenty of help. When we get in fights there is not many that can oppose us. The leaders told us that we have the power and go and occupy the territory that we are in. He gives us all the tools we need to do it including the soldiers and weapons to fight with. He has plenty of finances to do whatever is needed and wants His members to have the same. We are all told to not worry to be warriors for the leaders and to not worry about what we need to get the job done that the leaders will supply all of our needs. Thats the club that I am in its the only one that ever fit. The only leader that I have ever found worth following and the only true power over all governments and people and nations. Sandman that sounds awesome and Al I have seen your name in the membership rolls. Clark hopefully it will be as others have said not so bad. I would ask what kind of deeds have this gang been known for maybe that will show the direction that this is going.

What way is it to live life if you have to have a personal bodyguard 24/7 looking over your shoulder in case you might get capped by some joker with a gun? Not for me, no thanks. There is a motorcycle club who owns land outside of town called the apparitioners (spelling?) and my HD neighbor a long time ago asked me to come out and see what it is all about and ride with them. I said, no thanks, I like to drive longer than bar to bar and not drunk while doing it. I didn't care if he didn't like my comment or not, truth hurts don't it!

I like to think I'm in that club too. The rules are easy if thats the way you WANT to go. I have brothers that rode with patches. Its a strange feeling. Sometimes you have to prove your self then get a long stay in the graybar. Just not for me. " See ya in Church".

I believe you are very mistaken. To join a true M/C you must ask and find a "sponsor" that is responsible for the "Prospect". A true M/C never recruits.
Poker runs are just a way to have a bit of fun with your motorcycle and your ability to read maps and/or follow directions. Our own VRCC conducts poker runs.
Most, if not all 1% clubs discourage registering pistols and members having carry permits. It makes it far easier for law enforcement to track members and weapons.
It seems you are paranoid or very, very misinformed.
All I can say is: been there,...done that!!

I mean no disrespect to any member here...but as a longtime motorcyclist and a member of law enforcement...any motorcycle club that requires blood initiations...bodyguards...fight over "territory"...do illegal activities for club fundraising...etc...are nothing more, in my opinion, than a means for thugs, criminals and societal misfits to have something to "belong" to...the only piece of cloth that I will live for, fight for and die for is the United States of America flag...

Not replying to any post specifically...that is just my take on motorcycle clubs that are on the fringe...there are motorcycle clubs that are truly just for riders who love to ride...there are christian motorcycle clubs...there are clubs for specific brands/types of motorcycles...there are clubs for specific vocations, etc...those are not what I was referring to. I stand by my comment on the others.

Dave Yeah, there are several 1% clubs around here, most of them Outlaw support clubs. Hardly ever hear anything about them, just see them out now and again. There are also a few that could be in a Clint Eastwood movie or Wild Hogs remake.

ABATE is not a club/gang. Abate is a SMRO (State Motorcycle Rights Organization). Many 1%s belong to ABATE just as AMA clubs.
As a member of ABATE of MI, I wear a patch. It's not a requirement. My wife wears a Region 14 patch on her vest. Regions (in MI) are territorities. But we all work toward the same goals.
As an ABATE Region we are at times targeted, but we are also politically active, so conflicts sometimes seem to just go away. Also our region boasts some of the largest amount of VRCC members. We have at least eight active members, but we have members from Monroe county, Ann Arbor, Grosse Isle, Detroit, Dearborn Hts, Shelby Twp., Mount Clemons, and Jackson. Most are not really within the boundaries of Washtenaw/Lenawee counties. But we welcome everyone (well almost).
We also work with several large 1% M/Cs for use of their properties for a few of our events.
Respect is what makes for a strong/good relationship between the clubs, and they return that respect.

not sure wha to say here.. maybe its YOU thats mis informed..here is what I know.. ...... there is a dude who moved to town from nevada..he is a member of a "club" which i wont name ..only because the last time i did the thread got pulled.. but i will say that its one of the oldest clubs in the nation.. in fact a guy broke off from the club and started the H.A. anyway this dude has been hangin out at the local bar and has been recruiting some local harley riders.. easy to do when they are drunk.. 5 of them rode down to nevada a couple months ago and interviewed w the head guy in nevada. he wants to start a chapter here.. on their way back some lady passed them and one of the guys who is already a member thought she didnt give them enough room.. soo when they saw her in a rest area about a half hour later he busted the windshield out of her car. about 2 weeks ago the locals recieved their vest with patches in the mail.. since there isnt a chapter yer established here they also have nomad on their vests.. there is a gang here in idaho known as brother speed.. they are the dominate club in idaho and oregon.. google them if ya wanna learn more.. when the guy recruited the locals he told them that he had spoken w brother speed and since they are both affiliated w the H.A. that there would be no issues between them.. so last saturday off they went to a poker run.. wearing their new vests and two of em were sportin shoulder holsters under the vests w their 45's. 2 young friends of theirs and mine also tagged along on the run.. they had to ride in the middle with patched riders in front and behind.. they were running late so they missed most of the action at the first 2 bar stops.. but at the second one there was a brther spped guy there.. he saw he vests and patches and gave em the stink eye.. everybody split and went to the next town.. when they got there B.S. was waiting as the dude from the last bar called them and told them thye were comin and flyin their colors.the second hey pulled up the $hit hit the fan.. they were confronted by 5 guys .. they told hey guys who werent patched up to stay out front and took the patched guys around back and the shouting began.. evidently there was NO agreement made w the head B.S. dude .. but after about 15 minutes they came back out front with no shots fired or fists thrown.. there was some type of temporary truce called until the presidents of the 2 clubs could figure out whether they are gonna respect each other or NOT. all I know is.. the non patched friends were scared $hitless and said thats the LAST time they are rdidn with them.. not quite sure HOW this makes me "UN INFORMED "??? but .....

Good story but, it sounds like a few punks trying to emulate what they believe an M/C is. It's probably a good idea to stay away and let it play out. Punks never really get respect, but they get what they deserve,...in the end.

The one who started my club gave up His life along time ago that's why we are covered in blood. Amazingly His life wasn't taken no one could take it from Him He had to give it up willingly, no one had the power to do it. That is what makes us in this club so powerful today. He didn't leave us alone though He left us with the comforter and helper and even knew what was going to happen to Him before it did. He warned those around Him about what was going to happen. They didn't believe Him and even deserted Him when they hung Him out to die. We can wear patches but we are marked on us personally with a mark that can never be washed away.
The one who started my club was Jesus He said its good that I go because the Father will send the comforter the Holy Spirit NO one could take His life He gave up His life as a choice of will The one who scourged Him couldn't kill Him WE are covered by the Blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins We are healed by the stripes of Jesus from all sickness We are told to occupy and cast out demons We move in His authority and the power of the Holy Spirit No weapon formed against us will prosper We are assigned a gaurdian angel We are infilled with the Holy Spirit and with power The same power that raised Jesus from the dead not even death held Him
