I can not remember my last bad day

Taylor MI

WWW
« on: May 28, 2012, 09:18:52 PM »

The guy in front of me stopped and had no brake lights. By the time I figured out what was going on it was time to dump the bike. Road rash on every limb. Boy am I sore. May have told me that it could have been worse. Yep, if I would have stayed on and slammed the back of the car. Well I guess I will find out how good my progressive policy is going to be. Any tips on dealing with the insurance agent will be appreciated and can be emailed directly to me. BTW That is my supercharged bike. 2011 Best in Show INZANE XI. Looks like my bike trip to NC on Wen is going to be cancelled. If I can get on my I/S though I intend to go. Wifey does not like that.

Mike I'm happy to hear you are mostly ok! The healing will take some time. The insurance company will need your help in pricing the bike and  putting a value to a totaled bike. My pay out was almost twice the original offer from the insurance co. It takes some homework and receipts to help them see the value. Good luck. I sure hope you are able to make the trip next week.

Crashing Sucks!

Mike called me yesterday after he got back home.
Mike's a big strong guy and he'll be OK soon.

At least he's got another Blower Bike when he's healed enough.
Go Mike!!!

Mike Just Remember what The policeman told me at the scene. Usually the wrecker is picking up the motorcycle parts, and the ambulance is picking up the body parts with this type of an accident. He also indicated he was shocked his words, that you were awake and able to walk. God Bless. Dave

Dang Mike, what a person won't do to get some sympathy.     Evil

You have already figured out the next day you got aches and pains you never knew you had before.     tickedoff    Been there done that and still have the fire suit I had to wear out in the boonies.

Ok, lets get serious now.

Thoughts and prayers headed your way from Iowa.

Heal fast and correctly, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT pick the scabs off.

As far as Progressive goes, if you are in an accident with their policy holder, you can get almost anything you ask for if they were at fault, like running a stop sign.    Being you are the policy Holder, I'd just make damn sure I had a fist full of receipts.    Especially for the blower.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you heal up quickly.

Wrecked a dirt bike on asphalt not too long ago. Stay on top of the road rash. Tetanus shot if you're due one. Liquid anti bacterial soap, neosporane,  and keep the bandages on till the new skin's in place.

That sucks man.  Glad you're ok-ish.  May not want to leave it with the tow comapny too long.  Have a friend with a blown HD  that got towed after a drop type accident on a friday nite.  By Sat afternoon when he got the bike  back the blower was Loooong gone.

This was one of those "good news - bad news" messages. Too bad your bike got screwed up. I voted for it at the last InZane! However, good news, and far more important is that you are relatively OK. It could have been a lot worse, although you will be sore as he77 for a while. Heal up quick, and we'll see you at InZane! cooldude

Mike I hate to hear this but am glad you are alright and that you dumped the bike. I had a somewhat similar accident many years ago and  dumped it around 80 and know a little about that asphalt rash! When they use that alcohol and scrub that "hamburger meat" to get the tar out by a 350 lb nurse putting all her weight and strength into it!...HURTS! Cry

Anyway, I pray for a fast recovery for you my friend!  cooldude
