I think my 03 is the rarest as by all research and indications of the serial # its the last one out of the plant.  Smiley

The last ones lack marking for country of origin.  A 2003 has no "Made In USA" or Japan, either.  There is a 1/03 date code on the label.  A co-worker, formerly of Honda in Ohio, said Valkyrie was discontinued when motorcycle production moved from Ohio to Japan.

By '03, black was the color of trend for cars, trucks, and bikes.  Honda did it beautifully.  Polished aluminum and fine paint finish indicate Honda wanted those final bikes to be excellent.  It was designated the GL1500CD Valkyrie Deluxe.  Many Valkyrie enthusiasts don't know of the Deluxe.  It is rare.

Yep mine is all of that. According to Dag's website I have the last known serial #

I've added many serial numbers to the database since I wrote that article, but yours is still the highest number that I know of.

27630 standards, 8820 tourers and 9320 interstates

2002 black with the center red stripe.
Only around 600 US models made in '02 in all color combinations so this combo and year is fairly rare I would think.

from the book "The Honda Valkyrie"  by Peter Rakestrow

In 2001-2003 Valkyrie is called by Honda "Custom Deluxe" and no longer just "Custom", hence the "CD" designation.

In 2003 there are two Valkyrie models, one is the Custom Deluxe and the Custom.
The Custom model did not have the polished wheels like the Custom Deluxe did since '01.

Honda does not give out production figures on any of there items.

If you know otherwise, please supply me with the contact info so I can get it.

I tried for 1 year back in 2008 to get the figures for the Shadow ACE Tourer VT1100T, as it was speculated that the numbers made where 6K over 4 years. At an average of 1500/year of production, this places this bike into our insurance class of a limited production motor vehicle, and insurance would be in the $200 range, rather than the $1100/yr that we paid then (now currently around $1700).

I was able to get the import figures from Honda Canada of my VIN MC. Which was for my model and colour. 250 pcs.

No they won't.  I tried the same thing back when Valkyries were in production in Marysville.  They consider that proprietary information and go to some lengths to protect it from their competitors.  Many manufacturer's do this.  Airbus goes to the trouble of starting production runs at serial numbers considerably higher than 1, and sometimes skips blocks of serial numbers in between.
