I moved in with my girlfriend in January/February. We have been dating for about 3 years at that point, so it was time.
She owns her house. It was built by her grandparents in the 40's/50's. Her grandfather worked in construction (plasterer), and it was built with construction site leftovers. Add that to the years her grandmother lived her after her grandfather passed away and the years she lived here by herself and everything I touch turns into an exponential project.
There were critters getting into the attic somehow. Her dad checked all the soffit vents - they're all in place and secure. I looked at roof joints and fascia boards - they're all rotted out. Filled in where I could with expanding foam for a quick fix.
Window wells are falling in. Digging them out exposed crumbling cinder block walls. Still working on that one.
The "Honey-do" list is long to start with - I hate to see how it's going to end up after the exponential factor grabs ahold of it.
