Shopping on the Curb!!!!!!!

I dont know 'bout the rest of you , but I have no trouble picking things off the curb on Trash day.....

I cant belive what I find on a regular basis.. and no, I'm not a hoarder.... almost everything I've trash picked has been put to use one way or the other...

You almost cant belive what people will throw out......

Stanley Work mate in great shape... I already had one, but couldn't pass it up. This is one of the old ones that are tough as hell..... the new ones have been lightened up. THe old ones were like $200 or more new.....

AND....





A 9 drawer Craftsman Tool chest!!!!!!!!! Was dirty and had a bunch of stickers on it, but some WD-40 and elbow grease cleaned it right up. no dents and all the drawers works.... My new main box now.
To buy a New one would be around $250 or more...... (UPDATE- same tool box- 9 drawer, 26 inch, red with cover and lock on Amazon....$655!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

So who else has found treasure in other peoples trash???????????

I found a nice Stihl back pack leaf blower and another thing I cant think of. Cleaned it up and use it still today. Its nice when 'rich' people throw things out cause it wont start. Also got a nice truck tool box. It was ruffed up but suits me just fine.

When my band(s) were rehearsing in warehouses, we used to cruise the ritzy neighborhoods looking for curb furniture and carpeting for the rehearsal room.  Comfy AND sound deadening!

once i got 9300 industrial spools of upholstery thread from a dumpster outside a GM contractor. they sold on ebay for $2.50 each over a six month period.

I have not for a while... but I used to a lot.

I used to get window AC units in Hawaii ALL the time.  Clean them up and sell them for $50 each.

I put stuff out there all the time for people to grab knowing they will when I am just OVER it.

When i still lived in Illinois my brother(da prez)and i both had Dodge 3/4 ton pickups. Clean up week anywhere within 40 50 miles was a plus for us. Lawnmowers-if we picked up 30 of them we got 25 of them running and resold them. The rest became parts donors. I remember picking up a bedroom set one cleanup week-triple dresser chest of drawers 2 night stands and a triple mirrored make up table. The whole set was a little rough but all there. My daughter in formed me that i needed to fix it up for her. Most of the fall and all winter i refinished the set. It ended up a very high gloss white and the carvings were done in a semi flat bright yellow. I brought the lady and husband over who threw it away to show them what i had accomplished. Now mind you it is already in my daughters bedroom and she is using it. Him and the wife talked a little bit and thet offered me $200.00 for the set-which i promptly turned down. My daughter still has that set. RIDE SAFE.

Yeah, I recently saw a box on the street that said "Toro" on it. Next to it was a not too old mower thrown away. When I got home with the new to me mower it had a bunch of twine wrapped around the blade shaft. That's all that was wrong with it. Since I already have a rider and two self propelled mowers I gave it to one of my renters after I changed the oil and the air filter.

My cousin Robbie lived in an old neighborhood in Columbia, SC... they threw awesome
stuff away there, old stuff... he got some South Carolina related books out of a pile
that brought hundreds of dollars... he knows I like stuff like that and gave me one of
them...

When my kids were younger and at home they would ride they're bikes into the yard and just drop them and leave them til morning. One pick up night all three bikes gone.

Accidentally took a kids bike last year. Mom said he was riding it before school, and dropped it at the curb when the bus pulled up.  I came by in my garbage truck before she made it down to pick it up...

I found a 67 Yamaha 125 IN the dumpster when I was a kid. It ran and I rode it all over So. Cal.
 I hade a house just up the street from Frito Lay in San Diego. We had chips galore and my finger tips were pink for about two years from boxes and boxes of pistachios.
