I live next door from what was a large construction site.  Every morning at daylight, there would be that familiar "BEEEP-BEEEP-BEEEP" from the heavy equiptment anytime they were in reverse gear.

It's my understanding that up to 2 lives per year are saved by those horns.

I'm thinking:  Anybody too stupid to get out of the way of a 30 ton machine moving 3 mph and painted bright yellow, Do we really need that person?

Many many MANY years ago I was in the checkout line with my girlfriend at the time (Now ex, for obvious reasons.) Someone's pager went off. I yelled "EVERYONE LOOK OUT! SHE'S BACKING UP!!!".... And no, I don't know how I'm still alive...

we lost a woman the first week I worked at the window/door mill in Oregon. she walked behind the 30,000 lbs yard lift. she survived for a few days, but that did her in. she should have been fired for safety reasons as she was ALWAYS walking around with her clipboard to her face and never paid attention to her surroundings. an accident waiting to happen.

We had a guy here who wore his ear buds all the time. I announced I wouldnt drive the fork lift back there as long as he was there. Big OSHA diversified inclusive corpo world I work in.
He has rights, and if he takes ONE out, it will be OK.
I told em fine, but still wouldnt go back there.

I work driving 40,000lbs of natural selection thats cleverly disguised as a garbage truck.  Painted bright colors and covered in flashing lights, (hell it looks like a plane crash coming down the road.)  I couldnt sneak up on Helen Keller with this thing. SO if i  can sneak up on someone with it, then its time for them to go.... Evil
