I live next door from what was a large construction site. Every morning at daylight, there would be that familiar "BEEEP-BEEEP-BEEEP" from the heavy equiptment anytime they were in reverse gear.
It's my understanding that up to 2 lives per year are saved by those horns.
I'm thinking: Anybody too stupid to get out of the way of a 30 ton machine moving 3 mph and painted bright yellow, Do we really need that person?
we lost a woman the first week I worked at the window/door mill in Oregon. she walked behind the 30,000 lbs yard lift. she survived for a few days, but that did her in. she should have been fired for safety reasons as she was ALWAYS walking around with her clipboard to her face and never paid attention to her surroundings. an accident waiting to happen.
