They're paving my dead end dirt road

and tore up my phone line in the
process, so no Internet at home...
Anywho... Everyone had a blast at the Hillbilly ride, so many people worked hard
to pull it off, thanks to all of them

Stanley Steamer and I took the BRP up to 16, which leads right to ground zero...
I got a bunch of pictures of Stanley on the BRP, but the transition between
90-degrees/high-humidity at my house and the cool crisp BRP caused condensation
to form in my camera case, so they all looked like this:

It is good to stop at different overlooks when you are on the BRP...

There were SO many of us... and every time I saw the group stretching out
before me, or every time I looked in my rear-view, everyone was riding like
a pro, no troubles the whole ride as far as I know, maybe one "tip over"

Getting the group started out of the parking lot was a big deal. Tracy raced up and
down the lot till she could report to the leaders that everyone was ready...

The mayor was at the night-before-pool party, and the police escorted us safely out
of town the morning of the ride...

DDT at the first rest stop... they had HWY 16 shirts at this store, but not enough
of them...

Here's the real Rocket Boys...

We had a 50/50 draw to raise money for the Food Bank the night before the ride,
they fed us here and we drew for the winner...

The winner... Santa gave his winnings to the food bank...

Several of us snuck away to Burke's Garden after the meal...

You must ride to Burke's Garden if you ever get the chance!
We caught up with the rest of the group on 16 on the way back to ground zero, and
stopped at this overlook so that we could catch up to them again

OK, so I never actually caught back up, but the rest of these guys did (chop! chop!)
By the next day they'd had enough of us popping wheelies through all the intersections
and spinning do-nuts in all the church lawns, so they were glad to see us leave...

Me and Stanley Steamer and Mark and Randy and Sue ate at Hardees and left town
together, Randy and Sue planned to take 81 South and beat the rain...

D'OH! Oh well, I guess they got home somehow

Me and Steamer and Mark stayed on 16 all the way until we were South of I-40 near
Hickory, NC... 16 was a good road most all the way, missed every big town, the only
traffic was where 16 (an old road) crossed over the big newer roads... at a gas stop
this fellow expressed lots of interest in the Valkyries... he used to have a four cylinder
Suzuki (I think he said Suzuki...)

We split up with Mark when 16 hit 10 South of I-40...

Here's some shots of 10...

I made it home with almost no rain, rain gloves and jacket liner was all
I used, stayed perfectly dry... Steamer followed me to my neighborhood, and
then continued on home, check out his thread, he posted some good
videos of the main ride...
Thanks everyone, including Tracy and Don and Joe and Wolf and all the police and
the mayor and everyone who showed up
