I'd rate that crash about 11 1/2 on the pucker scale. Driver HAD to know he was carrying caps. Thinking about the explosion that could be comming would be major scare! cooldude

That would certainly give ya the taste-o-vinyl. I have the priveledge of moving stuff like that on occasion and its a whole nother ball game.
He knew what he was carrying, and the effect it would have on his future if not loaded properly.

Phone use is the first thing our company checks for.....Strictly forbidden. This driver was found to NOT be using the phone at the time. I and many other fellow employees have made phone calls to the higher ups asking and hoping that he not be fired.(the usual outcome of these things) He is a good worker with a good knowledge of the operating systems of these very complicated trucks. He has 3 small children and really needs to keep his job....... And we need to keep a good employee.
I would also add that those of us in the know about modern blasting caps and other high explosives have no fear at all about them going Kaboom in an incident like this......It just can't happen. The bigger fear is the same as any wreck....Trapped in on fire can't got out kinda things. We know the Kaboom ain't coming.......However the fire dept. and Haz Mat folks really put on a show with these things......It's not funny cause it's so expensive but they suit up in  there white HazMat suits with the big hoods and such for Fertilizer....... Mean while I drive around after a day of loading holes with the goop stuck all over me.  uglystupid2

Having done the Hazmat side of these kind of things, the big show is usually a pain in the a$$ ( for the haz monkeys too), but always better to be extra safe than dead.
