I made it Robert ( Thank the good Lord ) if I have anything to do with it that will be my first and last time on a plane. I did NOT care for that whatsoever...No control on my part my life was in the hands of some dude I never even saw .

Joe you'd trust me wouldn't you? I'd even let you have the stick and fly if you want.

I promise you it will be just like grooving on Deal's Gap. Nothing but smooth ups and downs and a few hard parts a draggin in the turns.

And rest assued, it's totally safe as long as this doesn't happen to the plane again. Chances are slim to none that it would so come on over and I'll give you a real airplane ride. Those big planes are nothing but flying trains, they just go down the same set of tracks in the sky everytime.

Man dude... flyin' is the cats ass brother.  Compared to schlepping it in a slow azz car for 2000 miles, I'll take the big ol jet train in the sky man.

To each his own bro...I did'nt like it...I like being in charge of where I'm going and no way in hell would I ride with someone on a motorcycle either.Photo below is who I trust to move me. At 36,000 feet its no wonder nothing is left when they fall out of the sky.

I must agree with Jabba, I'm really surprised flying would bother you of all people.

I mean, you have been defying gravity for so long on two wheels...

I'm with you Joe, as far as I'm concerned I hope I never fly again. 23 years of Army life with several trips overseas they even took me all the way around the world on one trip, when I retired 14 years I decided not to fly again unless it was an emergency. I figure I've pushed my odds to the limit, just like I worked in the maintenance field for almost 40 years before I cut the tip of my finger off.

Joe,
I am with you on this one, bro.  I love the feeling of take-offs and landings, but hate cruising and the turbulence.  I have an excuse for you to never fly again if you need it.  My wife, a nurse, says that sometimes the change in altitude and compression can have an adverse effect on a lung that has collapsed.  You might want to check with your Dr. if you ever have to fly again.  Until then, keep those Valks smokin'.

I love flying...but I hate the hassle of the airports, security, delays, cancellations, etc.  So I will usually drive if I can get there in a day.  The last trip I took for work, my flights were so delayed that I could have driven where I was going and been there several hours sooner...and that was for both trips down and back.  It sucked.  And the thing is, once you are in the airport system, you are stuck.  Talk about a loss of control.  You actually lose control long before you actually get on the plane.  I actually thought I was going to have to spend the night on the floor of the Philly airport because my flight was cancelled and I had no way to get out of there.  Then I ended up needing to get a flight to a different airport and drive over an hour to get where I needed to be.  The only up-side to that was that my flight arrived so late that I made the drive at about 1am so there was no traffic.  I found out later that same trip can be 3 hours or more if attempted at the wrong time of the day.

I especially like the small planes.  My neighbor used to have a Cessna he would take us up in and that was the best!!  And no hassle at the airport. cooldude

I fell for it Joe, and survived to tell the tale.

That plane had all the high tech controls.  A throttle nob, and stick....and of course, the ole hand start.

The last time that I flew was on the company's dime. A four engine small jet commuter.  We were airborne over West Virginia heading for Dulles.  I was reading "Yaeger" by Chuck Yaeger. I got to the part where he almost bought the farm in the X1A spinning out of control from 80,000 feet to 29,000 feet in just 51 seconds.
I shouldn't have been reading that part! Grin Grin

Smiley  I had a window seat on both jets the first one I looked out of a few times the second smaller jet I only looked twice ( take-off and landing ) .I'm on the road working ( outside Nashville ) and just saw on the TV one fell from the sky  today with 228 folks .   Sad  I hope to NEVER get on another one .

We were well under the weight limit, we had to be at least 15 pds under gross limit. But we only had a half gallon of gas!
