Got to see our tax dollars at work

I have spent the last few days at a Naval air station called
Pax river here in Maryland. It is also a test station for Navy Air.
Have gotten to watch a new F35[The one for the Navy] do touch and goes
and watch it use it,s tail hook.
They have a section of the field setup with the arresting wires
just like a Carrier.
Now the next cool thing I watched was a drone from what I was told was made for the
Navy do a few touch and goes . Then watched as it landed using the wires.
As you can expect I was not allowed to use a camera.
But it was way cool.

The Navy was in the process of setting up a UAV program when I departed in 2009, I worked with the Predator and Reaper while in Afghanistan. They both are amazing aircraft. If a carrier based UAV would have went into production for the Navy earlier I would have re-enlisted and switched rates.

Dating myself.

But i'll never forget my time on the flight deck.
My hats off to the new generation warriors-doing lots more with way less.
RIDE SAFE.
