one thing everyone has to accept is now that we've got obamacare EVERYONE is going to have to obide by the government regulations.  we're talking helmets for downhill skiing to riding a bicycle.  completely manditory.  and lets not forget one other freedom, the right to smoke.  well, maybe we want the smokers, they're the one's that are going to pay for it all......

i would not be surprised to see motorcycling banned under COST SAVING regulations. along with hunting/gun ownership, smoking, alcohol, etc. after all it will save the govt. billions of dollars in health care costs. who can argue with this logic? not the far left wing they want these things and more banned, not the far right wing, they want fiscal savings and smaller government.

What does the CDC have to do with motorcycles?  coolsmiley
This article is written by an epidemiologist on the gvmt payroll, not qualified to make these opinions.
Why should anyone believe anything in this article?
How does someone dying impact another persons' insurance?
Completely absurd.  uglystupid2

I went out with a woman a couple years ago (non biker) that staunchly advocated a woman had every right to do what ever she wanted with HER body.
Then, she turned around and told me helmets should be mandatory for all riders.
I dumped the hyprocrytical loon.
Keep your laws off MY body!

If you guys remember, a few years back they were on guns.

I guess all the actual disease issues have been resolved

What is up with the CDC these days?  Last week they were publishing "Zombie Attack Guidlines," (Google it yourself if you don't believe me), and this week they come up with this genius report.  OF COURSE, there will be more deaths of riders without helmets in states that have "helmet optional" laws than in states that mandate their use.  Duh, how much did it cost in tax dollars to come up with that conclusion?

i'm not an ATGATT type rider.  When I cross into helmet optional states, I'm likely to pop the top for the novelity of it.  I'll usually turtle up again after the "born free rush" goes away.  Common sence and self preservation usually take over.  I don't need the government to tell me what to do or spend my money to find out the obvious.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
