I have recently been trying mine with the suction cup right on front of the windshield.  secure though i did run a small line through the vent for insurance.  also tried on bars through shield but like it out front better.

I also got the Wasabi Power and charger kit with extra batteries (check Amazon) as well as LCD bacpac.  going to get the Wi-Fi BacPacâ„¢ + Wi-Fi Remote Combo Kit that just came out also.  you will like it, play around with the different settings.

You can also just plug into USB port on your laptop to view pics and charge.

I once ordered a pastrami and cheese hero at the court deli on walton ave.  They looked at me strange but did it anyway.

I'm sorry to say that I don't have any tips or suggestions, but I would like to say,  I'll be eagerly waiting for some of your videos to get posted.  I've never been on a bike trip anywhere in the north east, but I will some day.  Anything with interesting sites or routes would be appreciated.

Some of my local riding budies left Louisiana last week and one of them sends a video and a few pictures daily.  They are in Maine today, so far 3000 miles on the tripometer.

I have the original HD Hero, and for the blue ridge parkway trip last summer, used the suction cup mount on the dipped down section on top of the fairing.  I also stuck one of the flat mounts to the speaker cover on my side of the fairing so that the GP will stick up over that part of the fairing, but it's not stable enough - the cam moves too much.

I have had it mounted looking backwards (on the trunk) for some candid shots of others I'm riding with...you'd be surprised what happens behind you too.   Shocked

There was a pic posted here of someone that took one of the mounting arms, hose clamped it to the fork (wrapped fork in inner tube rubber for protection) and mounted the cam on the fork.

I picked up a gopro hero 2 a few months ago and have yet to really try it out on the bike other than a few shot shaky videos.  I had it mounted on a ram mount with a 1/4" thick aluminum tripod adapter that I made to use the flat mounting quick detach pad.  Did it work yes......was it steady.....not so much as the quick disconnect (not the actual aluminum mount) has a little play in it so any bump and the camera shakes a little bit.  Thought about trying the suction cup mount that came with it (got the motorsports version) on the faring in that center section but I'm afraid it will screw up the paint on the faring ans still be a little shaky in the process.  I have a second ram mount that I want to put on the lower crash bar on the I/S and see if that makes a difference.  Maybe I'll add a little fix it all to the mount.......duct tape crazy2 crazy2

Here's a few shots of the mount (it's on an el-cheapo tripod mount for the pics):

I bought the Hero2 in April. It quit working as I arrived in the USVI to do some snorkling. Never got it in the water. Sent it back to GoPro last week. I hope I get a replacement before my Calgary trip next month. OSS - I mounted it to the case guard on the left side using ram arms. I can just reach it to operate it while driving.

Im interested in getting on of those too.  I like the small size, which for our bikes seem smart.  I heard they have a remote option to use as well if its mounted where you cannot reach it.  Worth looking into.

On the Tourer Oss, mine is mounted in the middle of the windshield, held in place by the center bolt.
If think you have other bikes, so mounts may vary.

I used mine in florida, but not on a bike.  The suction cup holds very strong!  The underwater pics were good, also.  However, due to the curved lens, you will not get good focus under water.  The fix is the Blurfix kit.  But, it allows you to use 55mm filters such as polarizing, colored, etc.  And all pics under water are completely sharp.  The Blurfix also has a channel for dessicant to fit in so the lens does not fog up!

I give it a thumbs up!
