I was wondering if Honda reintroduced the Valkyrie, and not the Rune, would you run out and buy it all over again.
What changes would you like to see in your Valk?
Me personally, I’d like a 6th gear for highway cruising, and maybe a cup holder. (just kidding)

Well, would not have to worry about the pingel, because it would be fuel injected, and injected bikes do not have fuel valves at all. Which would mean it would have a gauge anyway. YES! MP except I love the one I got! Would have to keep it too!

A sixth gear and fuel injection would be good. The same or less weight, the same handling and at least 45 more HP would be great. That I would buy.

Yes, absolutely; I would buy a new Valkyrie (mine's a 2001 STD), and would like to see the following added:
(1) same motor as the Gold Wing 1800 cc; (2) silky smooth transmission, same as on the Rune, (3) with a 6th gear and (4) EFI; (5) better illumination from the headlight and (6) OEM factory installed light bar; (7) more comfortable (Corbin type) seat for long range cruising.
These suggested changes, in my opinion, would make the updated Valkyrie an unbeatable ride. Hopefully, the comments left here by all of us will be combined and summarized so as to feedback to Honda manufacturing. Just my $0.02. Thanks.

Yes, the problem is I like it the way it is and I doubt a new one would be any where near the same however if it was a taller gear ratio would be great as well as tires that have a reasonable life span

I'm with you all. Bigger fuel injected engine. an overdrive gear. Cruise control would be nice... I'd like the seating position to have a little more variety. Meaning, I have never been able to get very comfortable on my bike. I need a little more leg room. I keep wanting to try a good set of highway pegs, but I am always too tight, and can never decide exactly what I want for them. I am worried about scraping them earlier than I already do too. At 6-2 and 320 lbs, I hear all the stories about people LOWERING their valks... and wish I could go the other way. I know I can... al it takes is $$$. I love my valk, but won't spend the $$ I'd like to for her... so I'd not be able to buy a new Valk... but I'd buy another one or two af ya'lls that start selling them to get the new one! Jabba

Yes. A Valk Standard or IS w/the 1800 f.i. motor, six speed OD trans and perhaps ABS. All other existing models (w/the possible exception of the current G.W.) would cower before such a machine. We long for it... We trudge on.

You bet I would buy one! EFI, more HP and more comfortable saddle are my biggest wants...however I feel that if Honda did bring the Valkyrie back the one feature they should take a look at is the seat height. The current Valkyrie fits me fine, however I have heard numerous riders complain about the seat height. Cruiser riders like to be lower down to the ground and for some the ergonomics of the current Valkyries don't work for them. I think for the bike to have a successful return, seat height is something they do need to copy from Harley Davidson.

Yes, if it were similar in nature to origanal Valkyrie, unlike the Rune, which I consider more of a show bike as opposed to a bike meant to be ridden. inmho fast black

Definitely...
Keep it classy looking, not.... Rune looking...
As others have said... Bigger engine, EFI, 6th overdrive gear, etc...
I'd have one other request... And seeing as for cars I historically only buy Toyotas, and go out of my way to find ones that were made in Japan I feel funny saying this, but.....
Made in USA stamped into the engine block and written on the back seat like my current Valkyrie has would be another big bonus...

And all bikes do in time. At some point in life I'll find a steal on a green Rune, or a deal on a bike that I can paint green.
I wouldn't buy a new bike. Don't hope to do the payment thing again on a bike.

Only if I was in the market for a new ride. Don't really have room in the checkbook to squeeze in another monthly payment! Let's see now... 2000-2100 cc, fi, 6th gear, bigger gas tank (like the I/S) and a little bit wider swingarm for those that like their rears a little fatter.

Probably.
1800 cc EFI, 6th gear.
Reverse would be nice.
Leave the bling to be added. That's much more fun than buying one already sparkling.

I truly do love all the features of the "concept" Valkyrie that have been talked about here and most everything mentioned would be an improvement over the technology of our Valkyries. Bike technology has come a long way in the last 12 years, but I really doubt that Honda or anyone else is going to build a bike that is more bullet proof than what we are now riding. Granted, there are some minor glitches that show up now and then with our bikes, but I enjoy working on my bike almost as much as riding it. Also, they are still the most reliable and longest lasting bikes that I know anything about. Besides, they will outrun more than 90% of the bikes on the road at the present time, be it leaving the stop light or at top end. Should this "concept" Valkyrie become a reality, I would have to do some real soul searching. For you see, I'm still in love with my old '99 I/S, and I don't take my commitments lightly...JTL

I'd like a fuel injected 1800 version. Fairing with stereo, without all the extra interstate pods and plastic. Transmission that could be power shifted smoothly/quietly through all 6 gears. No top end limiter.

Well I just bought a Road Glide because there was nothing out there that I liked. But if Honda came out with a new Valk I would seriously think about a trade in. The fit and finish of the Harley is something Honda should pay attention to. I like the 6th gear, the cruise control, ABS brakes, EFI and gas gauge. I have factory security, so I like the idea of not having to dig for a key everytime I want to start her up. I miss the F6 passing power, the smooth flat 6 engine, and oh yeah the throaty 2Bros exhaust, but that was after market. I like the frame mounted fairing of the RG, and Honda should change their design of the trunk so it can be opened without having to kick the passenger off. The new Valk should also be plain enough to allow personal customizing.

Yes. An upgraded F-6 powered {6 speed, efi, etc.} is the ONLY thing that would get me to trade in my Valk. I have owned {& sold} a Triumph Rocket 3 and have ridden all kinds of V-twin powered cruisers but none of them are even close to being good enough to get me to give up my Valk. Even with the long in the tooth features that our '97-'03 Valkyries have the rest of the cruiser field pales in comparision. Oh well, my Valk has only 91,000 miles so at least I know I have another 100,000-200,000 miles to ride before I may have to consider trading it! P.S. I would even be happy to pay Harley prices for an upgraded Valkyrie.... at least I'd be getting my money's worth of bike!

If Honda is reading this....yes.
But truthfully, no. I so loved my first IS in '05, that I got a 2d IS (supervalked) in '08. Except for a few small things, each has everything I want, and I have stockpiled maintenance parts. The plan is to swap riding time between the two so they should easily outlast my remaining lifetime (or ability to ride any motorcycle time). Sure I'd like an 1800 wing engine in a Valk platform, but as I glide (stumble) toward retirement, I am trying to downsize, save, and limit debt. I think it is safe to say there will never be another Valk anyway: the choice will be the new Wing....whatever that is
But I tell you, of all the ideas everyone has for their dream Valk, the idea of a single sided swingarm (or some other method for a very simple rear tire change) is at the top of my list.
