...we met Greg at Inzane last year in Bellaire...
..well...he told us he was gonna be in Michigan this week, visiting friends
so we told him to stop on by and hang out for the weekend...he arrived Saturday
afternoon and we showed him to the Marilyn Room where he would be sleeping
...then we all got in the wind and headed up to Traverse City for the day...
....it was in the mid 80,s ....sunny and a great day to be in the wind on an adventure
...once we hit down town we stopped in a cool little place Chili and I discovered
for lunch called Zakeys...a tiny little Middle Eastern bistro..
....we ordered up some...Bobba Ganoosh !
...most of the dishes on the menu have names I couldnt pronounce...
...let alone know what there were..so I just picked something with meat..
...it was bodacious ! ..
...Greg..being the vegetarian that he is ordered something...with lots of veggies !
...it was a great little snack on a hot day and we had a fine time..
...then we took him on a tour of the coast of the peninsula down to the light house
....hanging out on the shore of Lake Michigan..
...we stopped and got a couplea pounds of fresh shrimp and a bodacious pie
from the...Traverse City Pie Company....then took off for home..
..once there Chili and I set about whipping up some fresh shrimp scampi and
a nice salad...and some homemade garlic bread....and a LOT of wine.
....next morning I whipped up some buttermilk blueberry pancakes and sausage..
....we hung out on the deck and enjoyed a nice breakfast before heading out again..
...if Saturday was a good day for being in the wind...Sunday was incredible...
....sunny and 81 degrees...no humidity...he banged on back up to Traverse ...
...but this time we rode on to Sleeping Bear Dunes to go exploring...a very
cool area...
....yes....thats Lake Michigan...a huge body of fresh water...and not the largest of
the lakes by far...

. ....well...after all that walking and climbing we were all famished...so we headed
out to one of our favorite Mexican joints...Red Mesa Grille..
. ...they bought us some chips and salsa...and of course Chili and I asked for
...."The HOT Stuff"...they keep behind the bar ...just to *spice* things up a bit..
. ...thats when this little guy came wandering over looking for a hand out...
...we obliged him...minus the hot sauce of course..
....Yep... .its always a fine time....just hanging out with good friends..
. ...Greg and Chili decided on the fish tacos...
. ..and I got one of my favorites. ...Smokey Steak n Bean Burrito. ..
. ....Ooooohhhhhh Yeeeaaaahhhhhhhh !!!!! ..
...on the way out we spotted this dude in the parking lot...a spare ? ..
......remember that "pie" I mentioned earlier ?. ..well..we were so full the night
before on shrimp scampi and all the fixins that we couldnt fit any....
.....so when we got home after our Mexican feast...Chili fixed Greg and me
....some...warm pie ala mode and fresh brewed coffee..
. ...for some reason though...I dont think Greg was diggin his ...too much..
....after dessert. ..I juiced up a BUNCH O Limes...and Chili whipped up some
of her...Bodacious Margaritas !. ..
.....a most excellent way to end a Bodacious weekend . ...
....of being in the wind and exploring..
....Yesterday when we got up it was raining pretty good...so Greg hung out for a while
and we watched the live weather on the net...it finally cleared and Greg said his
goodbyes....I think he enjoyed himself...although he did say that ...
....next time he hopes we..feed him more..
