I just saw where it,s 62 years since the Korean War [ conflict]
started.
Just a short note to say Thank You.
I know my Dad till he died woke up hearing someone yelling "CORPSMAN"!
Will never know which war caused it, maybe all three[WW2, Korea and Viet Nam]
Once again thanks to you all.

Though I have served in another branch as well, I've always been a Marine.  Semper Fidelis   cooldude

Damn shortleg, what about all the soldiers, sailors and airmen that were there?  My Dad was in the 1st Cavalry Division.  They deployed from Japanese occupation duty.  The Air Force cops at the air bases that were over run were hung by the North Koreans.

During the Korean War (police action), there were 36,516 killed, 103,384 wounded, and 8,177 MIA.

Army, Air Force, Marines, Sailors, and support troops of all branches.  I served in the Army Medical Corp.

Let's not forget the MIA's.  North Korea no longer gives access to find and bring the MIA's home.

Thanks for posting.

Would like to say I am sorry for not saying anything
about all the other branches of service and nations
that were there.
I only knew the one Marine that was and not at home
with us. I realize now what it took.

I agree and apologise to RJ.  RJ has five Purple Hearts from the Korean War.  The Marines did more than their share.

I wasn't the only one there.    Can't forget Chesty Puller, who was trying for a Medal of Honor.     He never received it, but he got them all the way the remaining ones.

I feel when someone honors a person or branch, they are honoring all of us, all branches, and both male & female.

Thanks Shortleg, I knew what ya meant.  His post was not to me alone, I just happened to be the 1st one who came to his mind.

Now, let's forget about it and move on.

Thanks.
