Electrical Connection turn signal kit
«

I saw in the forums about the Electrical Connection turn signal conversion kit. I looked it up and it is supposed to fit my interstate. I am trying to install today. First my interstate has no brake wire at the turn signal area so I had to run one. Now I have the turn signals all apart and see no way of running the new wires through the stem to the light socket area. Anyone done this on a interstate? Thanks for any help!

Good luck, getting the wires through the stems is a total PITA. I ended up guiding kind through with a bamboo skewers.

I didn't know the I/S and the standards/tourers where different. I just stuck the wires in there and ran them through there.

The only difference between IS and standard is no tail light wire at the turn signal light assy. I finally figured out how to get the light socket out and then fished the wires through. I spent a couple of hours getting a brake wire to the right location. My trouble now is sticking the LED light ring to the inside lens. Thought I had it siliconed , dried for several hours only to come loose when I tried to attach the wires. Have siliconed it again now sitting, drying with a little weight holding it in place. Will let it dry longer then try again. Thanks

If you don't get them to stick, Electrical Connections makes a different setup, don't remember the number, but it has a rubber grommet that the light slides through and fits tightly on the bulb.

I did mine this spring, 99 IS. You have to take them as apart as you can, and run a wire from the signal pods to the middle, bend it, and pull the wires in from that side. The brake wire you have to run all the way to the right side panel.
