There are a lot of models and two sizes of Shadow; which one are you talking about?

The 750 is about 45 hp, the 1100 about 58 hp, and the 1100 Sabre is about 64 hp.  This info is from about 2000, so they may have changed slightly.

Whether 700, 750 or 1100cc, I doubt any Honda Shadow ever made 75HP stock, at the crank or the wheel.  Forty something for the 700s and Fifty something for the 1100s more likely.

My Kaw Mean Streak (1500) (which would smoke any Shadow made), was 62HP stock, and 80 when I finished spending.

On the shadow forum a dyno of a 750 was about 28, and after a $1000.00 performance upgrade with pistons cams and compression rise from 9 to 11 it had 38.I remember reading an article about a female employee of one mc mag having her shadow rebuilt so she could keep up and with total rebuild they got 47 hp.My 2001 shadow felt like it had about 40.could not maintain 70 mph on the highway without twisting wrist as far as it would go.

My 2003 Shadow 750 could do 85 all day or until my arms gave out from the vibration, kinda like ridin' a Harley.  My 1999 1100 could and did easily keep up with the Valkyries and would run at 100+ until I tired out.

40 hp or 70 hp, my 1100 ran like a striped ape; I doubt either of my Shadow's were special.

Weight to HP ratio is a more telling number than just HP.

I was thinner back then   Sad  Maybe a Shadow would be slower for me now.   Evil
