we did have to weave around a tire that came off a trailer ,I saw the trailer pass us at about 85mph I was keeping my eye on him, he was traveling to fast for the load he had, and sure enough ,his wheel bearing started to smoke, I knew what was going to happen the tire came off came across my lane ,I just hate people that go to fast with a large load ,I have seen it happen before .he never slowed down till I got beside him and beeped my horn 15 times got him to pull over ,what a ---- head !!!! that is how people get killed !!!!on bikes !!
stay safe we will see ya on the road .Blade & thunder

Blade:

I just couldn't do it.  I'm not old enough for a Goldwing yet Grin !  As one of the few buyers of a new Valkryie at the dealership, I had my choice between the 2000 GoldWing and the 2000 Valkyrie Interstate and it was no contest.

But to each his own and I'm glad you are enjoying the GoldWing and it sounds like you made a great deal.

If you will pull one of the plug wires off, you can make it feel like a Harley, too. Cool

Best of luck and keep the rubber side down.

So Mark, just how old does one have to be to be wing-eligible?

Brother Dave

To me, "Goldwing old" is when you decide you're going to die soon so might as well get the Cadillac of motorcycles.  Big, soft seats, reverse gear, all the comforts of a car without the extra two wheels and lots of storage space for your Depends (new and used) and Poli-grip.  Then you go to Trike old, where you can't hold the motorcycle up but you still want to ride. To me, trikes are also known as the Viagra of motorcycles.

Now, there are people with physical limitations who ride trikes, so this opinion only applies to me.

And those are just MY opinions and most anyone on the board is welcome to take me to task on them.  The Valkyrie is probably going to be my last motorcycle. When I get too old to ride it, I'll just quit riding. If this one breaks or gets damaged in a crash, I'll just find another Valk.

Let the shooting begin.

Comfort is where you find it...  maybe in a 200mph jet boat... maybe in your easy chair... maybe in a duck blind when its 34 degrees and the dew is freezing in your mustache... maybe you're comfortable just being you.

Enjoy life.

Decide for yourself what comfort really is.

Hang in there, Blade.  I think Goldwings are cool and more like the Rolls Royce of motorcycles at a Cadillac price.  Not even the V-Series price.  Throw in the fact that they are six-cylinder Hondas and you can't go wrong!  Perfect for everyone?  Nothing is.  Perfect for every situation?  Nothing is.  Comfy?  You bet.  Feature-Rich?  Everything but air conditioning.  Fast and Nimble for their size and weight?  Check out this Yellow Wolf video on YouTube.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... the last time I was at the BMW dealership in Plano, the salesman explained the cause of the limited color and options availability on the K1200LT as being inventory reduction in advance of their upcoming release of a new f6 tourer.

I'd love to see a link or something...sounds like a BMW salesman blowing smoke.  I did a couple web searches that turned up nothing. Sad

I don't feel like it, but I guess I do look old enough to ride a wing.   Shocked

Guess I'll have to stock up on Depends and PolyGrip.   Wink

I'm 31 and almost bought a goldwing...valkyrie interstate was cheaper and way cooler looking and lets me save money by not having to buy such things.  Smiley
