Throttle cables
«

Any one who has done it before, got time to come to my house and help me disconnect and reconnect my throttle cables? Can't see well enough to figure it out. Push-pull throttle is new to me. I got a new starter button, housing and wiring harness several years ago at a swap meet, cheep. It is all done but the throttle cables. Hoser

I have not done it, but I understand the principle trick is to loosen the bars in the risers (watch the tank) and slide them
right
left to create extra throttle cable slack for the replacement job.

I just replaced my throttle grip (plastic end cap was broken off when I bought it) on my Interstate. I removed the metal cover that sits over the "choke" assembly on the right side of the engine. This gives you access to the engine end of the cables. I loosened and removed the throttle return cable from the bracket. This gave me an "extra" inch of slack in the cable, which is plenty to get the cables into the throttle grip. Reinstall the cable back into the bracket and tighten the nut.
Hope this helps

Thanks, Jess. That should do it. Hoser
