I've got the Valkyrie of course, but I also have a Goldwing.  I've had the Wing for several years, and I love it.  However, I've been trying to help an older friend sell his Goldwing Trike (he's getting out of riding), and some of his "friends" from the Goldwing chapter have been "helping", too.  Now he brought me and my boss at work (auto and motorcycle repair) the Trike, his little trailer, and the title to sell it all for him.  His "friends" have been informing people that it's for sale and steering them our way.  That's all fine.

What's got my dander up is they've been telling the prospective buyers a lower price than what we've been advertising it for, and saying that it'll have to be sold for less than the price they're telling because they buy and sell bikes all the time and they know it'll never bring that much, because "nobody would want a trike".  Well, excuse me very much, you're not in charge here, and it will bring that much based on what we've seen others being advertised for, and what we've sold them for for other people, which has nothing to do with what YOU would drive, @$$hole.  And if it does have to be sold for less, it damn sure ain't gonna be for next to nothing in the first 5 days after it started being advertised.  You say you're his friend, but you're trying to get him ripped off when he can barely afford to live on his SS since his wife died and he lost her SS.

I don't think I want to be grouped in with people like that based on what I ride, so I may have to sell the Goldwing and welcome an Ultra Classic next to the Valk.  My friends that own them (like my boss) would do nearly anything to help out a friend, regardless of what he rides.  Anything but try and screw him over to help another friend get a "steal".

Sorry for venting, it just really ticked me off.

What year and mileage are on the trike. What Trike kit is it and what trailer? I'll ask the local Trike shop here in AZ. There's lots of demand for trikes of all kinds. Send a personal email if you want to keep this off the board. sandyaL55@aol.com

hey pat, go ahead and vent.  seems like anytime a shark smells blood all it wants to do is eat.  people get stupid that way also, anytime someone's down on their luck the first thing they do is look for the aution signs.

doesn't matter what type of cycle you ride, they'd do the same either way.

good job in helping your friend, hope you sell that trike for more then your asking!

The issue at hand sounds more like a "chapter" problem than a "motorcycle" problem.

I get the GWRRA mag.

I don't go to many of their rallies, and I d@mn sure don't go to the chapter meetings in this area. There's a reason for that.
