First off I want to explain I am a Harley rider, not a Valkyrie rider although it makes no differnce what you ride as long as you enjoy riding.  That being said, I wish to pay my respects to a former member of VRCC, Vic Everling, who passed away while riding his Valk on the freeways of Southern Calif.  He paased away on May 29 and I believe the year was 2001.  I had the honor and priviledge of meeing Vic and his lovely girlfriend Sue at Lauglin and we became friends and tried to visit as often as possible.  I lived in Las Vegas at the time.  Vic was old school and we shared many common interests.  One of them was not throwing around the term brother or bro to just anyone.  Vic understood and demonstrated to all the true meaning of brotherhood.  He lived and died living the way many of us can only dream of.  I'm sure there are several of you who still have fond memories of this true brother and I just wanted to keep his memory alive.  I try to post a few days before his passing but was unable to this year.  For those of us who were fortunate to have known Vic, please take a moment to give your respect to a man who truly earned it.  I understand Sue has married and I send her my love and respect at this time also.  If you knew Vic I would love to read about some of your memories at this site.  Thank you again for allowing me to pay my respects to a man I was proud to call my brother.    Willy from Oklahoma City, formerly Las Vegas.

I knew Brother Vic and Sue.    met them in Bakersfield at the start of one of Hot Rod Power Tours.

One of the guys I was with from oHIo, had a radiator problem, and I had already made plans to meet up with Sue and Vic.   So it ended up all of us went out to Vic's for dinner and a place to replace the radiator on my buddies car.......

Vic's Harley developed and electrical problem at the Motel,  we were trying to fix it under a street light in the parking lot and the good old security boys told us we had to move on.   Vic asked him in a very nice polite way, how the hell was he going to leave with no lights at 9:00 PM at night.   So, we rolled the bike down to the door of my room, brought a lamp out and fixed it right there.....  The front office was ringing my phone off the hook.  Finally answered it and they told me I'd have to leave the premises or get that bike out of there.

Told them if that was to happen, they best have enough cash on hand to refund about 45 peoples room fees...........   The manager came from home, told us to fix the bike if possible and even gave us a space under some good light to fix it..   I think the desk clerk got her arse eat on that one....

I know Vic laughed about it the next day at the Venue for Power Tour.  If you ever saw him in a Red baseball cap, that was the cap he caught that was thrown out by Vic Edelbrock himself at the drivers meeting.......  His company was  the sponsor that evening's festivities and food I might add....

You are correct, Vic was old school and if he liked you, there was no better of a friend in the world.........  RIP Vic, we see ya in a few years.

Thank you for making this post.

Vic will never be a "former" member.  He will always ride on in our hearts and memories.

Vic was one of the good ones and is truly missed.   Sad
