Read an article once on the 1%'rs which pretty much spelled out how to stay out of trouble or dead, do a Google search on them and learn

Have you guys ever seen GWRRA three piece patches/colors?It's all about respect for one another. ABATE of MI has one piece patches and we also have three piece colors. I earned my three piece, and yes I did have to pay for it. ABATE members that wear patches do so out of pride in the work they do. The qnes that bitch and moan over a few beers usually don't wear patches. There are always exceptions to every rule.

I guess I don't get all these "rules". Who gives a bunch of vicious bikers the authority to tell others what clothes to wear? Certainly no gov't sanctions this. Let me add to my earlier post: I don't wear clothing that depicts me as a motorcycle rider. I don't wear patches or any club affiliations because of this crap. I'm not a biker. I'm a motorcycle enthusiast. Here in AZ, the Hell's Angels have control of ABATE. As a result I won't join them either. ... Tank admitted to giving a severe beating to people back in the old days. Due to an upbringing I won't go into, my tolerance for abuse is non existent. If I lived through that beating, the perps would have to look over their shoulder for the rest of their lives. I stay away from the places that might put me in harms way so it won't happen to me. I ride alone most of the time and don't stop in places where lots of cycles are parked. I believe in freedom in this country and living in fear of some silly rules that aren't gov't sanctioned isn't part of my life. Because I ride a Honda, I've been called a fag*ott, told to "get a real man's motorcycle". An HD dealer sales manager called my Valk a F*ck*n Honda. At a PGR funeral 2 a*holes gave me crap about riding a Honda 30 ft from the dead vet's father. I quit them too because the state director refused to do anything about the issue. Maybe there's more tolerance between brands back East, but out here HDs aren't very well thought of by the metric community because this behavior is common.
I go to all sorts of places frequented by every type of biker or "motorcycle enthusiast" there is. I'm also a very active member of PGR. I attend events from main stream bike nights at local establishments and bike shops... I've been to MC open houses and yearly parties... and at least when it's not a million degrees outside, I wear my vest that has the the Fallen Heroes/Patriot Guard round patch on the back. I am not threatening looking but don't come across as a pussy either... I have spoken with countless bikers, including the occasional 1%er ... and maybe I'm just lucky but I've not had one, single unpleasant experience, ever. In fact, I've found most of the rough types to actually be pretty friendly. With all that said, I'd NEVER wear rockers on the back of my vest, because why provoke people just for the hell of it? I'm not scared of the 1%ers (at least not one at a time, lol) but I'm not scared of snakes and I don't screw with them for the hell of it either. So like many here have said, leave off the rockers, be friendly and courteous with the bikers you meet and chances are you'll never have a bad experience.

Some Euro Scum is very misinformed. He needs to ride into Germany. The Germans don't mess around. The German VRCC is a dedicated bunch of riders/partyers and they will stick together as well or better than any HOG chapter.

I guess we do it a bit differently in Louisiana at PGR rides. Here are 7 Hondas waiting to escort a funeral. Before we rolled, we had 9 Hondas, 1 Beemer & 1 Yamaha. The wild thing is there were no Harleys in the mix that time. We also have about half of our riders wearing 3 piece patches. I don't forsee any trouble with the local m/c clubs, because our guys are wearing their colors from the "Blue Knights." They are a police riding club. Even the 1%'s aren't going to say anything to them.

I have an idea that the incident that you are speaking of had more to it than cops wearing 3 piece patches. The biker clubs I know of have members far too smart to start an unwinable war over a silly issue with law enforcement. We all just try to get along.

They didnt want the cop in 'their' bar. When they refused to leave, it was on. This is going on memory, I'd have to search the Sturgis archives. I'll do it wed.

If nothing else, this is educational and fascinating to my uninformed self. Enough so that I did some research on my own (Google). I really had no idea. Of course I knew about groups like the Hell's Angels and such but I was totally ignorant about the significance of the patches and the history behind it all. Thanks. Interesting subject. Steve
P.S. I must have missed it but is their a link to ordering this group's patch?

I'm not a bad ass, but no-one tells me what I can and cannot wear in this country. Is a stupid patch worth my life? NO Is freedom to do as I please worth my life? Yes. I have the "great equalizer" with me at all times. life is too short to go through being afraid of offending some poophead because of what I might happen to be wearing at the time. come on frenchie, tell the wee wee head you like your knees in the breeze, so go piss up a rope.
