when I purchased my 2001 Valkyrie standard they also gave me a set of Bar Risers, I was thinking about putting them on but when I started looking at them I see that the base on them is square and the one's on the Valk are round, I looked up the brand (Aeromach P/N AM-4190C) and they are the one's that are supposed to work, Anyone out there used these before or know if it's ok to put the square risers over the round hole...... Help Please
Thanks for any comments.

I think the most often used Aeromach risers for Valk are listed as part no 4120C (yes they are rectangular, that is no issue).  To install all you have to do is turn the wire clips on the handlebars around 180*.  Many have them, me too.  Most movement up and back without changing or rerouting any cables.  The website has changed and it is not clear what fits Valk now.

The 4190c appear to be newer and shorter angle (less pullback, but better than stock), but not listed for valk, but for Shadow and Sabre.  I'd call Aeromach and ask about fitment for Valk.  If they won't work, but are uninstalled and pristine, maybe they do an exchange for the 4120C.

BEWARE, loosening the riser bolts will let the bars swing down and whack the tank (so pad it with something substantial first).

+2.  I have HD Deuce risers on both my Valks.

Thanks for your comments and help Guys. Will do a bit more research to see if there is a better one or just try these, have never change these before so it's good to know to pad the tanks really well.

If you decide to install them, make sure to keep the risers from turning otherwise you will mar the finish on your top triple tree.  This has been a common mistake over the years.

The original Aeromach risers were not thick enough to cover the recesses where the round risers rested...not a problem other than cosmetic and not sure if the model you have addresses this issue.  You will be able to tell when you fit them before tightening to make sure you are happy with their final installed appearance.

When I changed my risers I padded the tank. Then tied a small rope from one grip area of the handlebar to the ceiling of the garage through a screw eye and back down to the other grip. That was one of the best things I could have done. The bars hung there directly over the risers. No struggles with the cables or mirrors.

It's also nice to have someone to lend a hand, but not necessary.

While you're padding, also do the front fender.  It's easy to drop the long extension ratchet/socket you need to work up under the tripletree, and it definitely falls right on the front fender.  Copper antiseize on almost every nut and bolt on the bike (as it's worked on) is also a good idea. Get a tube.

On the risers with the link to E-BAY it says the controls and cables work fine with no modifications, is this correct? Also does 1inch make a difference?

I'm about 6' and was getting a small pain in my upper back on long rides.
The small increase took that away.

Wow.... Great comments and yes I did look at those on ebay and they looked like it could be a good back up but was wondering the same about if it would be enough.  I'm new to the bike world and have only been riding for a few years, just trying to make my bike as comfy as possible for me.  Great information on this site so far.
Thanks
