I've read so many posts from you guys in the US about the heat and how dry it is.Here in the UK they are saying it's the wettest July on record. Most of England had Julys quota of rain in just one day.It has rained virtually every day,we have alerts for flooding and heavy rain.

Me and the wife are supposed to be riding from the East coast of England to the West coast of Wales next Saturday. It's only 300 miles but I might have to cancel it on two counts. Not only could the weather be a problem but last weekend my wife had a reaction to some pills she was taking for an issue with her neck. The doctor said she had had "a significant bleed" in her stomach. And that if she had any more obvious symptoms I was to call the emergency services.(Which didn't happen).
One week later and she's still pretty weak but back to the doctors on Tuesday,so hopefully he'll give her the all clear.

Scared the hell outa me.

I wish your wife the best...We need rain here bad but I do dig not having to mow the grass....It was 103 here today.

best wishes to wife, no reason to push riding in lousy weather with a "significant" medical problem.  Sad

110* in the California desert today but by heading up in the mtns can get down to the high 80's.
Went to visit buddy outside London the last 2 summers and rained 80% of the days.  lots of things to do and see  there (as in Wimbledon going on this week, good luck Murray) but riding a lot on a motorcycle in the rain does NOT seem to be one of them.  cooldude

while i was there though,  I saw so many motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic, narrow lanes, and everyone on the wrong side of the road.   uglystupid2 Scary!

Best wishes to your wife, Pitbull.
I've given up on this summer in the UK (although the sun's out as I write  cooldude ) and a few of us are riding down to Faro next weekend, a nice easy 10 day break in the sunshine, a very welcome 85F there at the moment  Cool

My English contacts have not been happy.  "Where's summer?"  I told them the people in the midwest  are hogging it all.

I just read on Yahoo that not much sun was expected there for the Olympics. I kinda thought that "not much sun" and England were a bit of a given.

Sort of like I'd think of Seattle only with funny accents.
