I owned my Wing for over 4 years and put 3 sets of tires on her and rebuilt the forks, brakes, etc. I never once had the need to lift the entire bike off the floor. I positioned the jack to raise the appropriate end off the floor and never had a problem. Can I do this with the valk?

I don't know why you couldn't, but I personally use the 35 dollar adapter that mounts to the bike and a motorcycle lift.. Works great and is very stable.

The thing is.....without a lift adapter the farthest you can get the lift to the rear is not far enough to just lift the rear.  With an adapter and moving the lift all the way back as far as it can go you get the whole bike just about perfectly balanced

I thought about making one of those but it looks like a bump in the wrong direction would bring it down like a house of cards. A welded metal one would be far safer it seems.

I was given an adapter that appears to have been made from and to those specs.
Do you find you have a clearence problem getting the lift and jack under the bike??
I do and have had to use the tip given about putting the bike on some wood.
In my case I use 2 chunks of 2x6 under each tire 1st.
Which is OK but a PIA to do.

I made the same "low tech" adapter in 2005. Still as tight and rigid as when it was made. I used glue on the joints as I assembled the adapter.
Mine does not interfere with the jack.

I to built the"low tech"jack adapter. Works fine. I put the H F M/C lift under first and then the adapter. As i raise my fat lady i hang on to the throttle grip-pull it towards me some and up we go!! The very first time i raised the fat girl after i tied it down i shook the crap out of it. Never even tried to slide off. It is a fairly stable work platform. Might be why so many of us use it. RIDE SAFE.

+1 on low tech! Glue the joints with Liquid Nails and screw it together.   coolsmiley

This what I ended up doing. There's a piece of 4x4 between the right side of the jack and the engine. The jack stand keeps it from teeter tottling.
